Agree. Payton and Loomis don't exactly have the best track record in the early rounds. They've been living off the glory of Colston, Evans and Pierre Thomas a long time.

there haven't been many times when i felt like i could do better than a professional athlete, but i really think that if i had 39 at bats i could put the ball in play more than twice.

Gettleman has drafted really well. I don't really get it either, but he's earned my trust. I suspect they liked Humphries, but he went just ahead of them.

 

They were probably hurt a lot by La'el Collins' situation.

 

I really like Shaq Thompson the player (more than most in the NFL, apparently) and it sure seems like, more than in normal years, different teams have vastly different draft boards after the top 10 or so.

 

The big question with Shaq is his position given his smaller size but he's perfect for Carolina's 4-3. And he's definitely a 3 down LB so that's not a question either.

Yeah, big Shaq fan. Top 15 player IMO. I read a stat that something like 64% of passes are thrown within 5 yards of the LOS in the NFL. Shaq has potential to be an elite coverage LB and almost completely take away the short passing game against some teams.

I'm very happy with the pick for Cowboys. Got first round talent in the late second. He's worth the gamble there.

 

And those who want to say "only the Cowboys", for the most part we have selected choirboys for our top picks in very recent years- at least in the Garrett-era. I think they only considered Gregory because of the value relative to the pick.

I was talking about the Titans there, but Grassu seems like a good pick for the Bears.

 

I would have preferred a T or S, but I can't complain. They definitely have a long term need for C, along with so many other positions.

I didn't like Hundley, but since GB is picking him he'll probably get flipped for a second rounder in a few years and then become a pro bowler.

Mayock was theorizing, based on what he's heard, that some possibility may exist that he never plays again.

 

That said, I'd be pretty thrilled if the Titans grabbed him or Prewitt in their last 2 picks.
