So how big a reach was Sherff? I thought it was a big over reach, but I also openly root for the Redskins to screw [expletive] up.

It's human nature for the Redskins to screw up now.

I think Peat is better than both the Giants and Redskins picks.

If you play Scherff at guard and not tackle, he could easily be an All-Pro his rookie year. Lot iffier if Washington thinks he's a tackle.

Peat has a high ceiling but a lot more risk than Scherff.

1st trade comes at #15

Got to think it's for Gordon.

Was Houston that likely to take Gordon? Gordon is a good player, but RBs are on a really short clock. Don't like taking them in the first, really don't like trading up for them.

Gurley is one thing, don't think Gordon is worth trading up.

Chargers just traded up for Matthews a few years ago.

Didn't they have more or less the worst running game in the NFL last year?

Running back is a fixable position without using a high pick on one. Had they been patient and taken a Jay Ajayi, Duke Johnson or Ameer Abdullah in the second or third round, they'd have been better off and probably have a pretty decent running game next year.

Shaq is a reach there. Good job, Carolina.

i think he should've stuck with baseball. his line in rookie ball with the red sox:

0-39, 8 walks, 37 strikeouts, .000/.170/.000

there haven't been many times when i felt like i could do better than a professional athlete, but i really think that if i had 39 at bats i could put the ball in play more than twice.

Would you get on more than 8 times total though?

Wonder how much La'el will fall and when a team will take a risk on him.

Gettleman has drafted really well. I don't really get it either, but he's earned my trust. I suspect they liked Humphries, but he went just ahead of them.

Puzzling 1st Rd by the Saints. The OT isn't a bad pick at 13 at all and fills a need, but damn they needed an impact pash rusher. I guess they may gamble on Gregory at 44 tonight, or else they're hoping Cam Jordan and Junior Gallette bounce back. The WR depth is good enough for them to find one later in the draft.
