I don't understand that fumble rule at all

It's the old Ken Stabler rule. He fumbled it forward at the end of a game, it was recovered by one of his guys in the end zone for a touchdown. The rule has evolved over the years, but that's why it's in place.

I get it for the forward fumbles (dead ball/gets moved to spot of fumble if fumbling team recovers) just doesn't seem to make and sense that if it's fumbled backwards it can't be advanced and is a dead ball.

Has a team ever challenged and given the other team a touchdown instead of getting the turnover they were hoping for?

I want to be in first place at 5-8-1 really bad. Go Bears.

I want that to happen, but that would be bad for our draft position.

Why is Chris Christie sitting with Jerry Jones?

Impressed with the Cowboys tonight.

Cowboys fan for some reason

Probably asked Jerry to bury a couple of people under Jerry World a couple of years ago.

Like the governor of New Jersey needs to go out of state for that.

Good point.

So there's a 4-way tie for the #1 pick - Titans, Raiders, Jaguars, Bucs. The Titans probably need to just go ahead and lose out since the only team there that I'm confident wouldn't take Mariota is Jacksonville.

What's the tiebreaker for the first pick?

The tiebreaker is strength of schedule. Whoever has the easiest schedule gets the 1st pick. Right now that goes Tampa Bay, then Jacksonville, then Tennessee, then Oakland.

Where do you get your current SOS numbers?

Was glad the Jets won today because now as long as the Raiders lose their last two games, they'll get the No. 3 pick. Worst case was Tennessee beating both the Jets and Jags and leaving the Raiders with the fourth pick.

Dammit so the Bears need to finish worse than the Giants and Atlanta to pick 7th. I think its doable but you can never count out the Bears winning meaningless games at the end of the season.

Crap. I hope Lovie doesn't decide that offense is important all of a sudden and takes Mariota. Or all 3 of those teams could win a game and the Titans could lose out - that'd work too.

Mariota with Evans, Jackson and Martin could be potent. Assuming Lovie isn't allowed to be near the offense.
