Dew, you SOB. Just stole the top OT in the country, Drew Richmond, from us at the last minute.

 

Wow, that's really crazy. I never gave much credence to the idea that we'd be able to flip Richmond, but it sure looks like it may be happening.

 

I'll feel better once somebody with legit connections is reporting on the Tennessee side, though. Nothing from any of the UT guys.

It's very legit. One of the Rivals writers for RebelGrove.com has a little brother that is best friends with Richmond. He wrote:

 

The rumors have been fierce and strong all day about Drew Richmond with some being positive for Ole Miss and others being the opposite. The truth is this recruitment has been one of the stranger processes that I have watched either up close or from afar.

 

I can confirm that Drew Richmond has decommitted from Ole Miss. I do not know at this time if that decision means the end of Richmond and Ole Miss' relationship. We will follow the story as it develops further.

 

Also, perhaps most telling: Freeze doesn't follow him on twitter anymore.

 

Tennessee and Jones are pulling out all the stops in recruiting these past few years. He needs to start winning some more games in that ishtty division though.

Wow. Texas aTm is recruiting one QB who may well play baseball. If so, that leaves them with one scolarship QB on campus. Manziel and Kenny Trill defections have left them in a bad spot.

Butch has exceeded my wildest dreams in recruiting. Even Phil Fulmer couldn't get back to back top 5 recruiting classes and Butch is about to. You're right tho - none of it matters if we can't develop the talent and win on the field.

Y'all took Kendall Bussey from Tennessee. That's a solid get for A&M, but Richmond eases most of that pain.

He's a badass at QB though but only 5'10"and needs some weight. That said if he was 6'2" he would probably be a top 5 recruit.

 

Calvin Murray is his uncle and also works for Boras. I don't think teams will shy away from drafting him due to football and will take the money if he goes high enough in the 1st round. In the other hand if he goes to A&M I think he's good enough to win the starting job right now and if he does Kyle Allen surely won't stick around.

Mora putting in early work has paid off. I really wanted Soso but UCLA getting him doesn't upset me. Glad we flipped back Newsome though which wasn't a shock.
