Shouldn't it matter that that record was amassed in one postseason, 4 years ago?

Why? It was a tangent started by the idea that Thibs is lacking because of his playoff record, but the point is that his playoff record is hugely impacted by the Bulls missing their best player for the last two+ playoff runs.

Rose is grumpy:

"We've got to give a better effort," a fiery Derrick Rose said Monday. "It seems like we're not even competing and it's [expletive] irritating."

Rose pointed to communication issues on the floor, saying that players are uncharacteristically quiet up and down the roster.

"Everybody has to be on the same page," he said. "Until then, we're going to continue to get our ass kicked."

PS why can't we embed youtube/vine videos, etc like pretty much every other forum in the world?

prob because the forum software was last updated like 8 years ago

also because iirc when it was brought up in the past these old curmudgeons thought it would detract from the content here

If the argument is inconclusive as UMFan said that's fine, I took it as some sort of gotcha that Thibs was a good playoff coach.

Maybe they had a lot of meetings.

He didn't really say that he's on the hot seat, just that the Bulls aren't afraid to eat his salary. Which could have easily been leaked by the Bulls to send a message to Thibs that his job isn't rock solid.

I don't think he's in danger yet...we are talking about an 14 game stretch of 5-7 ball after going 13-2 in the previous 15 games...meaning they've been a mediocre but not terrible (relative to expectations) 18-9 in their last 27.

But I will say that its starting to feel a lot like the end of the Skiles era. That team had championship aspirations (although less than this team), had pretty much the same team that lost in the second round the year before. That team started losing and effort and intensity were being questioned and it seemed like the same players that were performing at a high level were simply not executing. Skiles kept seemingly getting angrier and angrier in his postgames and the players just weren't responding. Once it went downhill it went downhill quick.

Also, the practice that KC Johnson tweeted about was apparently cancelled last minute. The cynic in me wonders if the players vetoed it, but it was probably just Thibs coming to his senses.

If you watch the video, there's more "hot seat" discussion.

Chris Sheridan also had an article out yesterday that basically said that the notion that Thibs lost the team couldn't be any further from the truth. I think someone just wants website hits.

He had one source tell him that he was losing the team, and another source saying it couldnt be further from the truth.

I'm glad it looks like the team bottomed out against Cleveland. It's just one game but they look like a different team. A lot more energy.

Teams will go through streaks during an 82 game season. They aren't as bad as they looked Monday, and aren't as good as they looked tonight, obviously. Has Thibs talked at all about letting Snell out of the doghouse? Was nice to see him look like a real NBA player tonight. Hopefully he can keep that up. Would be really nice if he could become a rotational player and give us a 2nd on-ball wing defender. I doubt he'll see minutes once Dunleavy returns, though.

Haven't heard anything by Thibs about Snell, but he hasn't had much choice with Dunleavy and McDermott out. Snell will have a comically bad play here and there, but can contribute some decent minutes. If he was a bit better on defense, he would get more run and would be a great fit.

Rose was dirty last night. Good to see.

Smell had 2 DNP-CDs last week after starting a few games in a row prior to that. Hopefully Thibs is realizing how useless Kirk is.

I think he's just trying to find a rotation so he's doing things erratically. Didn't Moore get a start as well? I know for certain he had a couple of games where he was ahead of Snell and maybe even Hinrich in the rotation.

The only person that seemingly won't get a shot at the rotation is McDermott. Mostly because every time he plays, including last night he runs around like a chicken with his head cut off.

Hinrich basically does the same thing.

Well, that's what Korver used to do too...run around like a fool until he could get open for a three...he could just hit those consistently.

Fun game so far, but holy cow the turnovers.
