emery was obscure as hell and would never get this opportunity again if fired tomorrow.

Well most GMs don't get new GM jobs either. Strictly on experience he isn't a "hired CFL coach" obscure. It's exactly the path many GMs take.

 

Going back to the original comment, all GMs are an experiment because they rarely get a second chance.

He was a strength and conditioning coach at shitty colleges for 20 years. He has no business in this job.

Well he's kinda old but he had just as much NFL experience as most first time GMs.
