Week 7: Dolphins (2-3) @ Bears (3-3) Noon, CBS/780

i actually thought it was the parks dept's decision to go with grass too. the more you know.

nah the parks dept has been deferring to the bears the whole time and the bears have been citing safety studies for years now

that's why i was so encouraged when mccaskey (or maybe phillips) suggested even being open to field turf earlier this year.

This game might tell us more about this team than any other. I hope they aren't the proverbial "plays to the level of the competition" team.

I seriously don't understand why you think this. Why would this game be so defining over others?

You excised the back end of what I wrote where I explained. So, ya' know, no context, no understudying.

Well that's a pretty terrible Carlton.

Good gif though!

post a gif of yourself doing the carlton

Jordan Mills didn't practice today. He has re-injured the same foot he broke against Green Bay.

Jermon Bushrod and Shea McClellin practiced in full.

@ESPNChiBears: DNP - Briggs, Conte, Forte (non-injury), Mills (foot), Paea (non-injury) and D.J. Williams (neck).

@ESPNChiBears: Limited - Jon Bostic, Jermon Bushrod, Ahmad Dixon and Sherrick McManis.

Briggs won't practice again tomorrow. Doesn't sound good for him this Sunday.

Apparently good news comes in threes.

Not sure if Shea McClellin coming back is exactly good news. He's at best on the level of any of the guys that were playing Sunday at LB.

He wasn't horrible to start the season....at least I don't think so. At worst, it gives us more depth at a position we really need it, as I don't think Briggs and Williams are going to play. Who knows about Bostic.

Yeah, but if he's played at the same level as the backup trio, he had to do it against teams that are better than Atlanta.

I'd like to see DJ Williams and Briggs sit again, just to go with the hot hand(s). If that does happen and Bostic plays, I'd be interested to see who they go with at the LB spots.

I'd go Sharpton in the middle, with Greene at WLB, throw Bostic in the nickel for Greene, and start Jones at SLB with McClellin working in. That could realistically be the LB corps in 2015 and beyond (Sharpton would have to be re-signed).

Do we know Sharpton's contract? If he's on the league minimum, are we in a similar situation than McCown last year where he can't be re-signed until free agency starts?

He was signed by the Redskins. All I can find on that deal was "up to 2Mil", but his contract was terminated and he signed with the Bears for 730K. So, I don't know how that works, but I'd imagine the issue with McCown wouldn't apply since he was cut first.
