Keith is the only guy on the ice who seems to understand that you have to put the puck on the net in order to score. If the look breaks down get it in deep or put to on him for the love of [expletive].

Agreed - 3rd and 4th lines are a mess. never should have benched Vermette or TT.

Sharp has been invisible.

With Shaw as his Center?

Yeah, its just a waste. The lines should go back to Sharp-Vermette-TT and Shaw-Kruger-Desjardins. Freaking Q out-thinks himself again.

I'm disappointed in a lot tonight. Expected a better performance, expected to fill his active roster with the best possible team, etc

Let's see if we can somehow get the equalizer in the last 4 mins

Bad performance tonight. Near must win on Saturday unless you think the Hawks can win 2

more in Anaheim.

Anaheim has outplayed the Hawks the majority of the time since the second period of game 1. We've seen the Hawks win series that they have been outplayed a lot of the first 3 games but it's obviously not what you want to see at all.

The NHL is 4 games from a disastrous Anaheim-Tampa Bay Finals

Yeah that was a horrible effort. And if injuries weren't a factor Q needs a [expletive] lobotomy.

He basically decided to punt a home playoff game. Who the hell knows why

So the Hawks were at home, had 5 PP to the Ducks ~1 minute of PP time, shots and face offs were both nearly even (both slightly in favor of the Hawks). Frustrating to lose this. I don't even feel like Anaheim is that much better than us.

Twitter is torching Q for the lineup changes. Benching Vermette (60% on FOs in the playoff) for Versteeg (and Shaw taking FOs (35% FOs)) and benching Teuvo for Nordstrom who played 7 [expletive] minutes is inexcusable

Q apparently said he made the changes to get "fresh legs."

I don't care if Versteeg has a supermodel's legs, I don't want that [expletive] within a mile of the ice for the rest of eternity.

And of course the beat writers are on Twitter yapping that "the lineup changes aren't the reason they lost" and it was the PP. Impossible to know of course. But one of those things was fully within Q's control.

That could even alienate genuine fans. I would watch because I like TB.

Heheh

Lovin the lack of profanity filter.

Hawks are in trouble. Long way to go but I'm not liking what I see

This is the part that bothers me the most. Kruger didn't take any FO's, so basically Q's puck possession team traded Vermette and Kruger for Shaw and Nordstrom. Additionally, the 3rd and 4th lines were the best on the team (CORSI) in Games 1 and 2.

In short, unless TT and Vermette couldn't walk, this is Q's darkest hour in years.

The PP wasn't good either, but it was largely the same problem they had during 5-5 play: stop being cute and put the damn puck on the net. The Ducks are allowing zone entry and dropping back to control shooting lanes and rebounds. If you find a seam and exploit it, don't deke eight times and or wait and look for the perfect shot; just shoot the thing and create havoc! Force the defenders to move out of position so that your teammates can follow-up and find good looks off of rebounds. There must have been 10 occasions last night when we had the opportunity to do this and lost the puck into the corner or behind the net in a scrum as a result of being too cute or waiting for the "perfect look".

(BTW, Cumiskey did ok last night and made a few nice stretch passes exiting the zone)

If you're counting on the power play to be good during the playoffs, you're in trouble.

The lineup changes are just bizarre. Q hardly ever makes changes after a win. I could understand wanting to add Versteeg for more offense but he's been a mess except for that period of time before his injury ie the PB&K line. Vermette must have some sort of nagging injury. I don't believe we'll see Nordstrom again. I wouldn't be shocked to see Hartman if they want to sit Bickell.

This was my biggest issue for the majority of the third period yesterday. Seemed like they were content in just passing the puck back and forth and not really sustaining any attack on net. I think from the start of the third period up until the final minute of the game, they only had one decent chance at legitimately scoring a goal.

I never want to see Nordstrom again. That guy is completely useless -- there's not one thing that he does well, yet Q gives him way more opportunities than he should get.
