That's crazy. There's no way, given where the sticks were and where the puck was, that it didn't cross the line, but I can't say I'd overturn the call.

Why can't the NHL invest in goal line technology like soccer? The technology is there and it speeds up the game because you don't have reviews like this.

yeah it's pretty dumb. the official ruling is basically "the stick was covering the puck so idk"

Hawks get screwed out of a point.

Raanta sucked in the shootout

The shootout is stupid. They might as well play beer pong for the extra point. The Hawks shot themselves in the foot time and time again. The game really turned on Kane's stupid unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. I know that was only his 2nd minor all season but you have to keep your cool. Also their PP sucked, and Duncan Keith seemed more intent on getting Hossa the hat trick than scoring himself in OT. I guess its regular season hockey, the Hawks just don't seem 100% mentally into it every night, especially after a long road trip and third game in four nights. They usually lose or get one point out of the first game back after a long road trip.

Oh well, still 7 games left on this home stand. I had them going 6-1-1 on this home stand. They should bounce back Wednesday.

Good question, I do think if the ref called it a goal on the ice, it would have stood. Not enough evidence to overturn either way.

Exactly...I think the refs knew it was almost certainly a goal, but they couldnt overturn it based on the evidence. I don't have any problem with the way the refs called it. Just sucks because if we could get a few more frames with the puck not obstructed by the glove and stick, there would have been conclusive evidence IMO.

On the postgame show Toronto said the only feed they had was the Comcast Chicago feed, Arizona must not broadcast the game, Steve Konroyd said. Why can't the NHL have extra cameras around the goal for these exact situations?

So with Versteeg back, Nordstrom is sent to Rockford, and Teuvo goes to the bench, because Q doesn't wanna put him on the 4th line...because Q says hes' a scorer and Carcillo fits better in that 4th line role.

Yeah you don't want Teuvo on the fourth line. I would keep Teuvo on the third line and let Shaw sit though. Speaking of Shaw I would have to guess he will be gone after this season with him due a hefty raise after next season. Might be some value in trading him during the summer.

I had almost turned this one off when they went down 4-2. Hoss is on fire hopefully they can get the second point here.

Sucks to come back from down 2 goals with 2 mins left only to lose in OT. At least we got a point, but 0-0-2 to start the 8 game homestand.

Meh. He'll never be even 3/4 the defensive player Toews is. Kane is proving superior offensively, but when factoring in the faceoffs and defensive side, Kane would have to destroy everything in his path to have more value than Toews. Great discussion to be able to have, though!

i didnt want Teuvo sent down but wouldnt it be better to send him down so he can get some ice time?

Only if you expect him to not play at all. I think Tuevo plays Friday and Carcillo sits. At some point Shaw will be a healthy scratch. He hasn't been good for a while now. Probably the best lineup is this:

Saad Toews Hossa

Sharp Richards Kane

Versteeg Tuevo Shaw

Bickell Kruger Smith

Point wise yes, but Toews does so much more than Kane that doesn't show up on the stat sheet.

The only good thing about not getting 2 points last night, in a game they didn't even deserve 1 point, is it keeps LA farther away from the last WC spot.
