Stepped on their dicks. That counts for more than just a win.

Certainly felt like a young team who is learning to close against an experienced champion sort of game. Don't know if the loss was mental or not but damn did the Lightning get tentative. They didn't even have that great of a desperation rush at the end. Please win on Saturday.

They pulled the goalie too late IMO. The had pretty solid possession and he was just hanging around outside the circle, seemingly waiting for the change.

This is why I think the offseason gutting is a little overblown. Teuvo has outplayed sharp in the playoffs and has gotten better as they've gone on

Depends on who they get rid of. Don't know what Sharp's value is anymore but if they get anything for him, it's a success. Same with Bickell. Those two I wouldn't mind losing at all.

The last sell off the sold high in many ways. Particularly with Bickell they'd be selling low. Will be interesting to see what they do this offseason. But I'll worry about it more in a coupe weeks.

Right. That was a different scenario where the core was all in their early to mid 20s. Now they are in their mid to late 20s to early 30s. I think at this point you can take some more long term risks by doing salary dumps

I'm irrationally hopeful about Panarin.

To expand upon that a little, you've got the part of the core that will be in the mid 20's to early 30's (Toews, Kane, Keith, Hammer, etc.). But I think with Saad, Teuvo and Panarin you could start to see the formation of a younger component of the core, as well.

Correction 33-0-2 including 8-0 in playoffs. I mistakenly added the two together

Jersey -- Phil Esposito, Tampa color guy and I believe still a part owner of the team. He's basically Santo in their booth.

Wait what?

@DarrenDreger: Hedman won't say on record Shaw bit him, but he says there's a bruise.

Honestly, would anyone be surprised if he did?

lol this team

Tampa knew the Hawks like to start out road games playing it uber-safe, so they just flooded the boards and picked up free pucks. Once the Hawks adjusted to that, play was even at worst.

Huge win and deflating loss for Tampa! Not sure why they went into a shell like that in the third leading only 1-0. Its like playing prevent defense in the NFL leading by a FG. Not to get ahead of myself but win on Saturday and this time next week there will be a huge party at the UC

Teuvo joked, I think, that the first thing he thought of when he scored: Oh no, I've got to talk to the media.

"We're not that terrifying."

Teuvo, flatly: "yes you are."

not complaining, but that was a surprisingly boring game. i still think all hell will break loose as some point. hawks have had a crazy 6-5 win in each finals series. i smell one of those.

I was stuck at work still and had to stream the game. Definitely let out distinct "YES!" reactions for both goals and my co-workers knew right away what was up.

Stole that game. I'll take it.

Stole? Nah I think we outplayed them the last 45 mins. Not by a ton but enough.

Yeah but I don't think the Hawks were better enough to win in regulation after being down 1-0 with 12 minutes left. Even the goals weren't huge rallies with dominant offensive zone play. Never saw that ending coming, but maybe it's just me.
