I'm really interested to see the match ups tonight. I think I prefer Toews- Saad - Hossa against Stamkos and Kruger's line against the triplets. I look for Vermette's line to have a big night against whoever they match up against.

Cooper will probably try to get the Triplets out there against Richards line. That may cause some real problems.

It was Kane-Toews-Saad in practice yesterday, so we'll see if Q goes with that. And, yes, the Richards line could have some problems on D vs. triplets--maybe that's why he would keep the game 7 lines, so Hossa would provide more D than Kane?

Yes that's the thinking with Hossa, plus Bickell has been a corpse, Hossa can maintain possession better than Kane.

As for this series people keep harping on Tampa vs Chicago's top 2 lines but almost all of the Lignting goals this playoffs are from their top 2 lines. The difference will be the Hawks 3rd and 4th line this series. I think Sharp is going to have a hell of a series.

Nervous for game 1 on the road? I dunno...I'm not. I'll be honest, I'm having a hard time with believing the Lightning actually have a shot in this series. I think the Hawks are a much better team. If I were a braver man, I'd predict a sweep. As it is, I'll say Hawks in 5.

I know practically nothing about the Lightning, but I just can't get nervous about the Blackhawks until the other team gets to three wins. Even then I can't ever count them out.

If the Hawks were at home I'd be more nervous. On the road, I am happy just taking 1 of 2 from any team. Even if they dropped both, I have full confidence they could regroup and win the home games to even up the series. If they went down 3-0, I'd be pretty doubtful of their chances but couldn't entirely dismiss them.

I mean this is the Blackhawks we're talking about. They are easily the most resillient team I've ever rooted for, or at least on par with the dynasty Bulls.

I desperately want to go up 1-0 in this series. The lightening might be the best team we have faced in a SC. I never am not nervous until the BHawks have 3 wins in a series, then I smell blood in the water. They close out really well.

I think Boston holds that title if we are talking this era, otherwise the 1971 Habs

Yup I think Boston was better, but they are different styles of teams so at this point its difficult to tell which one is a harder team to beat. At least we can all agree that the Flyers sucked and we were just toying with them and no one had any doubts throughout the series (please don't go back to the 2010 thread to verify)

You may well be right. But they had a better goal differential in the regular season, CORSI loves them, and we've had trouble with teams that can match our speed. I don't think this is going to be near as easy as many Hawks fans and outside observers do.

I'm not nervous at all because the worst case scenario is we have to be stuck on 2 Cups, 15 playoff series wins and 3 conference championships in a 7-year span.

not enough

That's not what he's saying. It would be a different level of nervousness if this was a veteran team with an aging core and the salary cap about to kill them looking to break a 50 year Cup drought. With this team, most of the core is squarely in their primes and not going anywhere, and they've already won 2 Cups in the last several years, so while it would be disappointing to lose, its not at the same level as the aforementioned scenario.
