It has reached he point where The Cubs, Red Sox and Giants are giving Jon Lester his decision-making time.

 

Not to completely eat every word NoCode is selling, but his timeline seems spot on. It's now just getting to major media that it's decision time. Would make sense that his family would know first. He beat Cafardo here, so it wasn't reactionary.

 

It could also just be an educated guess that it would happen tonight. But he's not losing any ground.
