Cal-WSU was 24-13 at halftime and 28-28 in the third quarter alone. 1261 total passing yards in the game. Cal's QB threw for 527 and was still 200 less than WSUs.

Absolutely. The best of them all is Laremy Tunsil. As a true freshman starting at LT last year, he gave up one sack and it was to Carl Lawson on his 50 something-ish snap of the game. Hasn't given up any this year. He's a true specimen.

I'm just happy that we have almost eliminated the potential of 2 SEC teams making the playoffs.

How do you figure? If anything I thought this weekend helped the chances of there being 2 SEC teams. In any case it's way too early to say.

I assume he meant 3 teams will make it now

Here is my logic:

The SEC East sucks and no teams will make it out and play in a playoff.

Now in the West before the SEC Championship we end with Auburn v Bama and Ole Miss v Miss St. Now if Ole Miss and Miss St play each other and are still undefeated that means both Bama and Auburn have 2 losses so they are both out. If Auburn and Bama play each other with 1 and 0 losses that means St. has at least 2 losses and Bama has at least 1. No need to mention Texas A&M in this conversation.

Florida St is basically a lock for 1 of the 4 spots. They could lose a game and still make it at this point. We also have the SEC West Champion as well going. That least 2 spots for Pac 12 Champion, Big 12 Champion and or Michigan St if they run they run the table. The scenario's of taking a 1 loss 2nd place in the SEC West over a 1 loss Conference Champion is going to be very small when that 1 loss comes in the last week of the regular season. If it was a computer model picking the teams that would be a different story, but humans are not going to pick a rematch in all likelihood. Its possible, just not likely (Mighigan v Ohio St in '06) .

The nightmare scenario is something like 2 loss SEC East champ Mizzou giving SEC West Champ Miss St/Ole Miss their 2nd loss in the SECCG while Bama and/or Auburn don't win the West at 10-2. No idea how you untangle that. Georgia only has 1 loss on the road and has the chance to build a resume @Mizzou, v. Auburn, and v. Georgia Tech at least. Mizzou hosts Georgia this week and then the toughest game after that is I guess @aTm, the 5th or 6th best team in the west?

I think it's a mistake to DQ 2 loss SEC teams. We aren't that far removed from LSU being selected as a top 2 team while having 2 losses.

We are more than far enough removed. Now if other conferences implode I would agree, but if you have two loses in your conference in normal circumstances you should not be a part of a 4 team playoff.

Should?

Do, or do not, there is no should.

You could have a 1 loss FSU whose best win is against a 3 loss GA Tech team, a 2 loss PAC-12 Champ, and whoever emerges from a crappy Big Ten as their competition. And that doesn't even really require upsets.

I am good with Do Not.

That was my original thought, although I suspect Clemson will end up looking like a better win than Ga Tech.

A 2-loss P12 champion looks pretty darn likely at this point. Stanford already has 2, and Oregon or UCLA will have 2 after this week.
