It's odd how little I remember of that Atlanta series. I remember Borowski getting the final K. I remember the hype surrounding the Maddux-Prior matchup in (I think?) Game 3 at Wrigley. I think Alex Gonzalez hit a few HRs?

I vaguely remember Sosa hitting a towering fly ball to about straight away CF either to end the game or in the 9th inning of one of the games they lost. It either would have tied it or won the game (can't remember if men were on base). I think it was off Schmoltz as well.

Can anyone confirm that this happened or am I dreaming this up?

For some reason Baez hitting that towering fly off Chapman this year reminded me of this Sosa moment this year that I had long since forgotten.

Yeah, game 4, he represented the tying run.

It's a real damn shame there is no way to re-watch old playoff series other than the last few years. How does the MLB benefit from hording that stuff?

heh, i was on the road to atlanta during game 4 following the game on satellite radio since smart phones were not yet a thing and i didn't have one of those hokey mobile web phones at the time.

i was halfway rooting for us to lose though i obviously would've been ecstatic with a win.

I was standing at the back of Section 239 for that one. Seemed that he just missed it, but I have yet to see the TV replay. Me and the rest of the SRO crowd were sure it was gone.

Also present for the Baez shot, and he did indeed just miss that one.

Adams has now homered off two of the best starting LHP in baseball in the span of 10 days.

105 HR in 162 games, then 15 HR in < 9 games, sure, why not

That's on Bumgarner. He completely missed location on the HR to Cruz.

probably because he knew that cruz has 3 home runs in his entire major league career and is a third string catcher, so he shouldn't really hit a home run even if you miss your location.

Yes Harold, the guy who walked 2, gave up a double and another rocket last inning certainly looks like an ace you effing dill hole.
