Feeling vindicated in that I've always despised the Vikings (and never really hated the Packers...outside of the fact that we couldn't beat them in the 90's)

You don't hate the Packers or the Cardinals... who are you really, David?

Apparently we have a very esteemed, never do wrong board. 65% on ESPN poll said they agree with the AP reinstatement, yet it seems nearly everyone on here thinks the Vikings were wrong.

As far as McDonald situation, his is different than everyone else. He has not been charged or indicted. Everyone else has been charged and evidence of the wrongdoing exists. There is no evidence against McDonald at this point. Only real info that exists is that it was a birthday party, his girlfriend had marks that could have been from being hit (police don't know yet) and multiple teammates were at the party and one (Vernon Davis) tweeted that he was there and didn't see anything. This is not Ray Rice (video proof), Greg Hardy (found guilty but awaiting appeal) or AP (indicted).

Can confirm this Vikings press conference was exactly the disaster everyone is describing.

i think it went about as good as it could go, and it was still a catastrophe. it's like when you hold a pc to deny the holocaust. it's just not going to go well for you.

I wonder what portion of respondents saw the photos?

This isn't some gray area of wrong that normal people might venture off to. It's not a very high standard not to beat your 4 year old children with branches until they bleed and stuff leaves in their mouths. So those 65% of people are terrible awful morons or don't have the facts. Being unanimous in recognizing that what he did is too terrible to get off easy isn't an indication of this board being very esteemed or "never do wrong."

Meh. Most people I've heard talk about it still think it's a spanking vs time-out or a "the government can't tell me how to raise my kid" issue.

Yep, I'll be honest that's what I thought until I saw the pictures and read his texts and the child's testimony to police.

Holy [expletive], he was getting shredded up there. That was good to see.

It really does sound to me that it wasn't his decision to reinstate Adrian Peterson, but he still had to go and defend it.

Apparently a popular Vikings message board shut down over the abuse issue as well as commenters being douchebags.

i hope tim does the same thing when david says its okay that we didn't sign jon lester

come on now i'm not don't spend money guy

granted if it gets to some outrageous number i'm probably gonna be like "well, [expletive] it. pitchers." but it'd have to reach a pretty high point for me to say that at this point

its a function of the availability of money, the scarcity of places to spend it on and the obvious place of need and the impact on the ability to contend immediately that means the line where too much is too much is really high. it exists somewhere, i guess, but it's probably beyond what any team would spend anyway.
