Should we be intrigued at all by Eric Jokisch? I'm guessing he doesn't have great stuff, since he's rarely mentioned around here. However, his numbers look very similar to Hendricks at Iowa this year. Low BB numbers, decent K numbers.

Intrigued? Sure, but I'm doubting he winds up as anything more than Rusin. If we don't add him to the 40man this offseason, someone will take him.

Ya, Rusin probably isn't a bad comp. He doesn't strike as many people out, but I'm guessing neither of them have much of a future with the Cubs. Jokisch's numbers this year were very similar to Hendricks', but there aren't many successful pitchers like Hendricks in the bigs.

Soler came into today with a 1.235 OPS across his three levels, 1.131 in Iowa. Also, he's 22.

MLB.com has Almora ahead of him

I think the most overrated prospect in the game as well as the most underrated prospect are both in the Cubs' system.

When did the Cubs acquire Buxton?

It's very close and they're pretty similar prospects.

Which prospects would you trade Soler for?

I doubt I'd trade him for Buxton right now, because he's sucked since returning from injury. If he rebounded to what he was last year, I probably would.

Correa would be very tempting, but since our IF is already crowded, I probably wouldn't. Same with Seager.

Giolito and Urias would be tempting, but they're pitchers and likely to die soon, so probably not.

Other than that, I don't know if there's anyone I would even consider.

.606 OPS with 23% K% and 6% BB%, I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

I don't think that includes today's 0-5 2K performance. OPS now at .568.

There is no analyst out there banging Lindor's drum because of his bat. He's a future Gold Glove SS with potential for a slightly above average bat.

He doesn't turn 21 until the middle of November. So showing a 70 something at bat sample size of him in AAA isn't exactly saying much.

I don't think he's a top 10 type prospect, but he's not the most overrated guy around either.

yeah, i think that bashing him for a low OPS as a 20 year old with less than 100 plate appearances in AAA is pretty silly. especially knowing what baez does for his first month or two most times he reaches a new level.

This is far and away the most overrated archetype of prospect to begin with. Lindor's a fine prospect, but it's the same trap that led Alcides Escobar to be considered a top 20 prospect, except in Lindor's case people have him knocking on the door of the Top 5.

Bryant and Soler both finish 1/3 with 2 BB each and no Ks. Soler had a 2B, both were presumably bored.

Any time Bryant has 5 plate appearances with striking out, it's a pretty good day.

Soler's current AAA line: 67 PA, .309/.433/.709/1.142, 5 HR, 12/12 K/BB

That is stupid.
