Between Bryant striking out in the futures game, Castro & Rizzo striking out this inning in probably their only AB's, and Giancarlo's 0fer in the 2nd round of the derby yesterday its been a terrible weekend for 4/5 of our 2016 Allstar Cubs.

 

 

 

At least Baez ripped a homerun on a seemingly 94 mph Kerry Wood type slurve to the opposite field in the futures game.

BTW, it was a stupid quote. He essentially threw a couple pitches down the middle because Jeter deserved it. But, then he follows up by saying if I knew he would've hit a double I would've done something different.

 

 

 

I dont know what is more funny that he's admitting to grooving Jeter a couple pitches.

 

Or, that he probably inferred he was surprised Jeter could still hit a double on a pitch down the middle.
