At first I thought the game was today and was wonder how the hell they could schedule a 10:05 am start after a night game at the place where time stands still.

We start thinking that if just maybe they can go 6-4 or 7-3 going into the break that they can end up having a respectable season. Instead, they'll go 3-7 and blow a couple winnable games late (definitely one each against Washington and Cincinnati).

This is the point of the season where the Cubs make us think they're decent. We start thinking that if just maybe they can go 6-4 or 7-3 going into the break that they can end up having a respectable season. Instead, they'll go 3-7 and blow a couple winnable games late (definitely one each against Washington and Cincinnati).

I think they'll keep playing well and get within 4 or 5 games of .500. Then they'll trade shark and Hammel.

 

Even then they'll be infinitely more interesting than post-deadline 2012/2013 cubs.
