140? He's not a kid. “@MSimotes23: @keithlaw what would your pitch limit be for Arrieta?”

Keith Law can you step off the Hot Takes Express for just one second of your twitter life, I'm not even worried about Arrieta's pitch count and that irritates me.

If it weren't for his shoulder issues in spring, I'd agree with Law. But let's not push it for someone who all of a sudden might be the most important pitcher in the organization.

David Cameron ‏@DCameronFG 3m

Over last five starts, Jake Arrieta now has 3 BB and 45 K. Which makes sixth start back even weirder: 3 BB, 2 K against the Mets.

A 15:1 K:BB ratio is good right?

90 pitches after 6. They wouldn't pull him, right?

There's no need to be reckless and let him try and complete the game, but I'd imagine he could go 1 more. Letting him pitch 8 and 9 probably isn't smart though regardless of situation. Assuming he doesn't have like a 10 or less pitch 7th and 8th.

you realize he's throwing a no hitter right?

just making sure because the way you worded it makes it seem like you randomly were wondering if they'll let him throw a complete game or something

Yes I am aware, there's no reason to make him throw 120+ pitches

Go eat a sandwich by yourself

This is without a doubt my favorite one from that game. At no point is that thing anywhere near being a strike, but Bell just goes ahead and jacks at it anyway. The one where Alou walks away shaking his head is pretty good too.
