Baez apparently was having some altitude-related issues after doubling, but he is staying in the game.

Are you trying to say he's high? \:D/

I read that as attitude issues and was trying to think what he could have done.

Whatever the efff he wants.

I don't even care I want Manny on the MLB club in September.

I secretly fantasize about him being a pinch hitter/player coach on multiple Cubs WS teams starting in 2016 with Baez & Bryant hitting like prime Manny & Albert Belle.

Who's Giles? That team was [expletive] stacked.

Zagunis went 1/3 with a double and a BB in his pro debut. One throwing error, otherwise it looks like he was fine behind the plate.

Rehabbing Gerardo Concepcion struck out 3 batters in an inning (and got a ground out and a flyout?) in an inning that makes me question Arizonians ability to keep score:

AZL Athletics Top of the 5th

Pitching Change: Gerardo Concepcion replaces Adbert Alzolay.

Edwin Diaz flies out to center fielder Charcer Burks.

Robert Kuhn strikes out swinging. Robert Kuhn advances to 3rd, on a throwing error by catcher Mark Zagunis.

John Nogowski reaches on a missed catch error by pitcher Gerardo Concepcion, assist to first baseman Tyler Alamo.

Jonesy Zarraga strikes out swinging.

Seongmin Kim strikes out swinging.

Yep, that's a pretty good night...

I stopped following after the 2nd K. Good to see Baez picked things up after that the rest of the night.

Obviously Manny influence takes 2 Ks to take effect.

Agreed. He can go 0-for Iowa and I still want him in at least 1 major league game, televised so I can watch.

A bunch of random thoughts from last night:

Fun night in Colorado Springs, got Manny and Bryant's autographs before the game.

Hendricks topped out at 89 on the stadium gun, only runs given up was a 2R HR in the 3rd inning...looked like a lazy fly off the bat but kept carrying in the thin air.

Pimental was crap, decent speed on the FB (92-93) with absolutely no control. First 2 innings took around an hour.

Brett Jackson came in as a defensive replacement in the 1st game and horribly misplayed a fly that fell in for a double...is his time as a Cub almost done?

Baez looked lost most of the first game, was getting a steady diet of off speed pitches low and away. Obviously made good adjustments in game 2.

Alcantara played a good 2B in game 1 and also looked like a natural in CF in game 2. Also had a nice right-handed AB in game 2, getting a hit off Boone Logan.

Bryant is a monster, could not believe how big he was. They did not give him much at all to hit, which should become the norm, so it was nice seeing the walks.
