Maybe I'm wrong, but Alcantara looks a lot like young Deion Sanders in that picture.

I was going to say young Warpticon, but that works.

Baez looks like he just got finished shooting Ethan Hawke in a shower.

YOU EVER HAD YOUR [expletive] PUSHED IN, BRO

lol, 1.8 WAR playing LF - 4th best in MLB

his CF defensive stats are almost as appalling as his PH stats; it's aggravating they persist with that experiment, just to force PAs for the Kalishes and Coghlans of the world

Oh man, Schwarber is my new favorite. Ditch this catching [expletive] ASAP.

he looks like the big giant drunk party animal that also is totally nice and polite to everyone.

I thought we were wanting more douchebags on our team?

I'm not.

All things being equal (and awesome), I'd prefer to have a bunch of fun, nice guys. However, awesome is the requirement. Nice is just a plus.

Douchebags are always preferable because great players are almost always douchebags, but big fat party animals are tolerable. It is a tricky line, though, because it's very easy to end up in Mark Grace territory, where you're a douchebag AND a big fat party animal, but not that great and you're just unlikable.

Somewhat related to Dolittle's 50 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio, the Oakland A's Pythagorean record is 52-23, or 112 wins. The 98 Yankees didn't even have one that good.

+135 run differential right now. Second best is SF at +49.

Two weeks ago I posted the same thing in the Musings thread, except Oakland's differential was at +128 and San Fran was at +65. Oakland is ridiculous this season.

The Padres have scored 238 runs in 69 games. This puts them on pace for 488 runs. Comparatively, The Cubs have the 3rd fewest runs scored this year 289 in 76 games. That puts them on pace for 616.

Pretty much all of their good or promising offensive players have taken massive steps back in the last year. It's pretty amazing, really.

That's in spite of a player having a career year (Smith) after leaving Coors Field to play in Petco.

When Smith,Headly and Quentin are all traded at the deadline we might see a team who puts up 450 runs on the season. That's got to be the lowest run total in the past 30+ years.

That math doesn't work out though. They should be on pace for 559 runs.

No idea how i butchered that so badly and I even double checked. Next time I wont bother with the math while half asleep.

Not really a weird stat, but more of a dominating stat, I suppose.

The Royals are 49-1 when they have the lead after 7 innings.
