99.9% sure you can only amnesty a contract if you're the org that signed them to that contract.

The East has vastly improved, but there's not a standout team YET. If Love ends up in Cleveland, it likely will become one. But it may take the Miami route, of needing additional veterans before its truly a powerhouse.

 

Add a wing to Gasol and the team is good enough to come out of the East, if healthy. Not the favorites, but not a longshot either. As always, it'll come down to health.

Right now the odds in vegas (the ones im getting) are : Cavs 4:1, OKC and SAS 6:1, Bulls 8:1, LAC 10:1, HOU 15:1. Houston is a decent play. Bulls are getting some notre dame effect but still not long shots.

If they had gone after Afflalo, even as relatively little as he cost, people would be griping that they didn't bother to try and go for Anthony.

 

There were ways to get both. Unless Melo was truly adamant Taj needed to be here.

Yes, unless he's involved in a shocking S&T prior to Gasol becoming official. We fall under the cap, no MLE-other exceptions-GONE.

Not necessarily. If you're willing to hold off on bringing Mirotic over and do some salary dumping, MDJ, Randolph, and Snell, you could have nearly $10M. Not sure thats enough for Stephenson necessarily.

 

Our best bet may be to hold onto what we have, bring Mirotic over for 3-4M, and still have around another 3 or so plus the RMLE at 2.7. Bring back Augustine or the best available PG. And vet mins like Hinrich

Assuming Boozer is amnestied, I'd consider Gasol an upgrade, regardless of age. Boozer drove me crazy with his lack of back-to-the-basket game and weak finishes at the rim.

This seems like a 58 win season and 5 game loss to Lebron. That will be 5/6 in the last 6 years.

 

We basically need Mcdemott to be klay Thompson and Mirotic to be prime Toni kukoc instead of omri casspi and Rudy Fernandez.

like seanimal said, it's back to nba purgatory. only this time we're relying on rose staying healthy just to get there. then we'll remember we still don't have a second ball handler that can create a shot.
