Saw a guy speculate its a S&T with Dunleavy and non guaranteeds. Which means Boozer can still be used for a wing. Melo or whoever else. I've always really liked Pau. The age is scary, but he's still really good, so I'm excited about this.

I just don't see the point given how well Taj played last year and Mirotic coming over. You could argue that PF was the position we least needed to add to. We also have Greg Smith who was injured last year but potentially a solid backup and Anthony Randolph who sucks but is on the books for 1.8 mil. Neither are anywhere as good as Gasol but again they are guaranteed contracts that are unlikely to be traded and on the roster next year.

Maybe Miritic doesn't get signed but what else does he do, sit out the season, as it looks like the bridge to Real Madrid has been burned.

At least now our fourth quarter rotation has a quality offensive big that thibs will play in key spots unlike boozer. And since they are moving Noah so far off the basket offensively Paul can put pressure on to the interior and finish or work the boards or really spread out the offense. He can play with taj or Noah or both. Mirotic is a huge question mark and we have no clue what role he's gonna play.

The bulls were the absolute worse team ever offensively and addin a really good two point basket scorer is much needed.

Defiantly looking forward to seeing Noah and Pau play a two man game. I like Taj but he's no where near as skilled and Noah has been great at finding guys inside and I think Pau meshes well there.

I'm trying to look at this from Melo's viewpoint. Lebron just went to Cleveland, New York tried on Gasol and failed,(tried because Melo WANTED him), and he will have the ability to opt out after 2 years with us and get another max. There is basically no way New York has a [expletive] at beating Cleveland inside those 2 years, while we would conceivably have a decent shot anyway.

If winning IS most important to him, the writing is on the wall. If LA La is in control, it's a different story, but it's very clear where Melo SHOULD go and I've always been a guy that didn't have hope for this.

They have no one over 6" tall who can get his own shot. Pau can.

Right, I get what Pau can do. I guess it's just wondering if signing a 33 year old with durability concerns at our deepest position with a quality starter in place is the best allocation of resources. I don't claim to have another solution to propose, I haven't looked at available options outside of Melo.

Can't Pau play center as well. He could rotate between PF and C and give Noah much needed rest. Plus there are most likely times Noah will be out with an injury.

I actually kind of like the Joe Johnson idea on realgm. It's not like we should expect some big window of contention ourselves.

How worried should we be about how crazy he is?

Passing on Afflalo looks stupid now.

Did we pass on him? I missed that article, I think.

Yes. We obviously did, considering what he was dealt for.

Not sure if we passed on him but damn did he end up costing little in terms of assets. Oh well it was worth holding off to see if Melo would choose us.

Without knowing what went on behind the scenes, it's unfair to say we "passed" on Afflalo.

If they had gone after Afflalo, even as relatively little as he cost, people would be griping that they didn't bother to try and go for Anthony.

There were ways to get both. Unless Melo was truly adamant Taj needed to be here.

Is this rumored or somebody's idea? I will take this certainly. Looking at his numbers hes declining on usage and not efficiency. Looks like a played very well in the playoffs. Hes an expiring next year. Id do this in a heart beat. Maybe theyd take butler and boozer?

Question, can the nets amnesty boozer? Or does it need to be the team that signed him? If the nets traded Joe Johnson for Butler and Boozer, could they then amnesty boozer and have cap room or are they so out of the cap that it doesnt matter?

[expletive] it get Joe Johnson he can still score and hes like the third in career NBA earnings.
