It's hard for me to put into words how I feel about this. I have nothing but hatred for this organization. I don't care if they don't include him at the wrigley thing. But to say he owes anybody anything is absurd.

Outside of pulling Theo out of his ass, Ricketts has been quite the incompetent moron.

He paid him a ton of money and give him a bigger job and he job with the biggest upside. Boston also apparently did not need him. TR so far in my book, and I keep score, has zero points.

I'll give credit for clearly building the organization up. Our system is clearly better.

That being said how that pans out at the major league level and what else they do to complement it will determine whether what they have done has been worth it

or worth any points!

Do people forget the way he went out? I haven't forgotten 98 and the years prior but I remember what a dick the guy was at the end. I don't know what the current regime has against him, ped accusations aside. I don't care much if they kiss and make up or not... They did kinda create the monster though.

Maybe I've forgotten. I remember the bullsht racist chicago media acting like he killed franz Ferdinand because he may have left early on the last day of the year and that he played salsa music in the clubhouse.

What else do I need to remember about how he went out.

The fact that Scottie pipped who probably also did steroids is literally the goodwill ambassador to the bulls despite refusing to play in or of the most important plays of his career because he didn't get a play drawn up for him and Sammy Sosa needs to apologize to somebody is absurd I feel nothing but absolute rage.

I will use this as a litmus test if you are at all negative about Sosa ten you are a horrible turd. There couldn't have been a more fun player to have on your team to root for than Sosa. He risked his life to hit more home runs for you ungrateful fucks.

I also remember the chicago media acting like he robbed a bank because he had 25k in his shoe one time despite the fact thatd be equivalent to me having 4 bucks relative to my net worth. Also I remember the media implying he beat his wife because he cut his hand. What else do I need to remember.

What a missed opportunity. There was so much goodwill out there yesterday - Selig, a McCaskey family representative and the Ricketts clan all received benign, if not warm ovations. There will never be a better chance to ease Sosa back into the clique.

I agree that the lineup of ex-Cubs seemed terribly incomplete, with entire eras ignored.

Surely a few of these people could have been coaxed into the park: Bruce Sutter, Bill Madlock, Dave Kingman, Bill Buckner, Rick Reuschel, Rick Sutcliffe, Dennis Eckersley, Leon Durham, Jody Davis, Shawon Dunston, Don Zimmer, Jerome Walton, Mitch Williams, Mark Grace, Randy Myers, Gary Gaetti, Randall Simon ... most of these people occupied fleeting moments of notoriety as Cubs, but all came to mind as I tried to visualize the seasons from 1975-2003.

If Dempster is suitable, then certainly any of these would have been also.

How did he go out? What did he do besides leave the park early?

I have a feeling you do not remember how his time with the Cubs ended.

Have any of you heard or care about the things/attitude Sammy has now? The dude is nuts. He calls for his own statue.

I loved him as much as any Cub fan, but I have ZERO problem with him being stiff-armed, until he has a shred of humility and changes his whole personality.

I don't really care that SF has welcomed Bonds back, or that McGwire is now a respected hitting coach and pushing around a crippled Kirk Gibson - Sosa and his ilk are crap. They are terrible role models for our kids, and a disgrace to the game. It was enough for Sandberg to backhand him in his HOF acceptance speech, and any Cub that I respect has little respect for Sosa. Kudos to the Cubs organization for taking out the trash.

I can't believe I'm obviously the only person on 4 pages saying this.

so, why exactly are you against him being welcomed back? i'm just asking because it appears that you can't put your finger on it either.

Why welcome him back? He walked out on his team and organization. For all we know (and we all know he wasn't clean) he is the symbol of what was wrong in the game during the steroid era, shaming himself by acting as if he couldn't speak English.

Sure, he was the "heart and soul" of the Cubs and the only bright spot for so many seasons. I enjoyed the PED Era as much as all of you, but I'm just not ready to let go of my disgust at what was done to MLB. Owners, players, and Selig - all garbage.

Sosa and everyone else did it for the money. They ruined the history of the game, which some of us respect.

Damn, he was fun to watch play, though. I don't care if they "reinstate" him to the inner circle of Cub Glory. I doubt he'd be accepted by that body - but what the hell did they do?

I just like to rant - who gives a f$#% what I think. I still love Sammy, but what the hell is he doing to himself?

They traded him for playing salsa music or something, right?

I think going to leave early today from work because there's nothing else to be accomplished at 4 on a Friday afternoon. In 10 years, I hope my coworkers or clients don't put it against me.

For a period of time, I drank a lot of coffee (because the office didnt care at first) and my individual performance and company performance improved likely because of my coffee intake. Problem is, because of my high coffee intake, I ruined the toilets and likely some respect in the history of office bathroom etiquette.

But dammit, I drank more coffee because it helped me attain greater levels of performance, and as a result, a higher salary.

The last two sentences are hard to equate with coffee, work, and poop so i'll just ignore that part. But who gives a expletive what I think. I still love Coffee, but what am I doing to those poor toilets?!?!?
