Jackson will be in the pen if he's still on the team in 2016.

I hope he's not in the team in 2015.

I hope he's not on the team tomorrow.

Haha, I almost posted this.

Oh, darn. I hope this game doesn't get rained out and Jackson has to not pitch again for 5 more days.

They'll have a eat a [expletive] ton of money if they want to get rid of him.

Sunk cost.

But at the moment, we don't have five people I'd like to see starting more.

If at some point we still have Samardzija, Wood, Hammel and Arrieta, and Hendricks is ready to move up to MLB, then I could see eating the whole contract if we had to.

doesn't Russin deserve some shot with what he did at ST and mopping up last night.

He may prove to be just as bad, but it sure looks like we know exactly what we have in Jackson and Villanueva.

Maybe over Villanueva not Jackson, they won't make that move with Jackson unless he is Danny Jackson bad.

Thanks...curious: which Cub has the best BABIT? (my guess would be Riz)

Bonifacio .500. Last year Castillo led all qualifiers with a .347 BABIP. The Cubs as a team were dead last in BABIP in 2013

Don't you think a lot of that was because we had some really bad hitters.

Oh, I agree, we have to try to find something there and as long as we are bad it really doesn't matter. I was just kind of throwing that out there because it was said that they couldn't think of 5 starters (with wood, shark, arrieta and hammels) he would want to pitch until hendricks was ready...

They were probably towards the btm in LD% too. They awful on offense last year, its an obvious correlation.

2nd to last in LD%. Also were in the bottom 5-10 in base-running and stolen bases leading one to believe it was a below-average team in terms of speed, as well.

They were 29th.

But the 28th place team in LD% was 22nd in BABIP, and the 30th place team in LD% was 18th in BABIP. The connection isn't really that strong.

Thanks. An interesting stat.

Soooo...will Edwin return after the delay? And if not, who?

Rain delays need TWIB, highlights of the '72 A's, or reruns of Welcome Back Kotter.

Whatever this is is horrible.

The W/L results have obviously been mixed, but I am so happy that Castro and Rizzo have looked great so far. I actually have some confidence in the offense and very little in the starting pitching. So basically the opposite of the previous couple years.....

Would it have been out of the question to bring back Garza this offseason? Were bridges burned?
