Safe to go to #9 after this poll closes? Pretty clear it's Alcantara, Pierce, Vogelbach at 6, 7, 8

No, that's not what those results mean.

I thought the whole 3 vote thing was an effort to do this faster, so now I have no idea why it's not just 1 vote per poll.

Three votes helps down the line when people are just making stuff up. Pointless now.

I agree with wekim on Hannemann, for the most part. I definitely have Balaguert and Dunston ahead of him, with Hannemann looking outside my personal top 40. Doesn't mean he's not a prospect, but he's got to get moving quick obviously. ….until he DOES produce, I'm going to have Skulina, Masek, and Frazier ahead of him from this past draft, even though they were drafted behind him.

We're doing a whole lot of projection with all of these kinds of guys. Obviously this is an opinion board, so if you and wekim don't like Hannemann, you don't like him, that's fine.

For me, I'm going to have Dunston well behind Hannemann. Probably because I'm not a big Dunston guy. He was 20 years old and slugged only .358 in a hitters league. 1 HR for a corner outfielder doesn't seem that promising. Sure, hannemann's future depends entirely on projection, since he hasn't played effective pro-ball yet. But Dunston's future also depends entirely on projection; no power, no future.

I'm still hopeful, but a lot of guys who end up with good LF power were already beyond 1-HR at age 20. Who knows with Hanneman, and I'm hopeful there too. I guess I just trust Theo/McLeod enough to think they knew Hannemann's age, but still liked him enough to draft him knowing he'd require a major superslot. He'll probably fail, of course, as is true for all 3rd rounders and later, and for all prospects who are showing up outside of the top-25 on a team list. But I can't imagine the Cub scouts are so dumb that they'd waste a million superslot and a high 3rd-round pick on a guy whose potential is grossly sub-3rd-round.

Dunston doesn't make my top 10, but he had a good year to put himself back on the radar. Terrific K/BB numbers and good speed/SB to balance a low IsoP. It'll be interesting to see how he handles full season ball offensively, not too dissimilar to the challenge that it posed for Hernandez and Amaya this year.

As for Hannemann, I liked the pick, and it was kinda crappy luck that he had that injury given his circumstances. Hopefully he can play his way onto the Kane County roster and we can see some progress from a full year of being a pro. He won't make my Top 10 either, but while I haven't done a full list, it'll probably be tough to find 25 guys I clearly like more.

I didn't have Dunston on my top 40. But I made that some time ago, with Mateo at 36. So maybe with Mateo Rule 5 picked, I could slip Dunston in at 40.

Also Jacob Hannemann sucks. Dunston >> Hannemann

Balaguert as well.

yep

I don't get the Hannemann sucks thing. What's your reasoning?

I just don't think he's very good. Didnt like the draft pick. He couldn't stay healthy late this summer, which isnt good for a guy who's already in dire need of game action. He'll be 23 in April...

Every positive writeup on him has been based on projection, and i'm not really feeling it. I dont think he belongs anywhere near the top 25 in a system as deep as ours. I've got Dunston and Balaguert ahead of him in my rankings.

Okay. It just seemed weird to me to have formulated such a strong opinion about him without having a lot of data to go on. Seems like the reasoning boils down to you think he was drafted too early.
