Willis is an absolute freak of nature.

Urlacher looks fit as hell there. His core and upper body look very strong (even though has no six-pack). Calves look a bit underdeveloped, but that's just his body type. To me, he always looked like a distance runner from the waist-down.

All NFL players are strong for their size. Strength at this scale can't be properly determined by looking at photos. To have clear cut definition and a 'six pack' requires primarily above all a proper diet regimen which most players coming out of college fail to learn about and have. Every individual and body shape is different, but to see Shea still not have that in place after being a first round pick and having played already is confusing to me.

Did you see my post where I attached pics of HOF and borderline HOF-players who don't have six packs?

There is zero correlation between being a productive (never mind elite) NFL player and having a body shape that is pleasing to our society's completely unrealistic sense of what people should look like. Zero.

Kiper projects DE Michael Sam to be drafted in 5th-7th round: "As a designated pass rusher, you’ve got a chance to help somebody." #Bears

It's easy to see how Michael Sam could help the Bears at the right level of draft pick investment. Bears could handle that attention, IMO.

I'm sorry but to have 18% body fat for a NFL DE/LB and to expect success is unrealistic. I'm willing to take the bet that most NFL players with 18% body fat won't achieve elite success.

In a way I do feel for Shea because by all accounts he's a great guy who does want to succeed. But I had around 18% body fat a few years ago when I ate a shitty diet and just lifted weights. I cant fathom how an athlete would have that much body fat.

I'm sure quite a few lineman are in the range. Not "speedy" undersized pass rushers, but some NFL players.

if you're including linemen, some is a massive understatement.

Per Harry Teinowitz, Bears will open up against the Bills.

I'd rather get one of the tough games out of the way early. Especially with the way the Bears have struggled down the stretch in recent years. Last year, they opened with a good Cincy team. Year before, an eventual 11-win Colts team. 2011 it was the eventual 10-win Falcons.

Most of the tough games appear to be on the road too. This is the 5th straight year the Bears will open the season at home. They are 4-0 in the previous openers.

Agreed. I kind of enjoyed the confidence boost of beating a good team to start the year.

I get fretting over this stuff but find that it is all pretty much meaningless in the end. Schedule matters when it comes to injuries of opposing stars, but I do not think there is any rhyme or reason to what is better.

I have a feeling that it is necessary for this team to get off to a strong start to avoid further defensive veteran dismissiveness toward Trestman, and to keep the wolves off of Cutler. But a loss is a loss and a win is a win in the NFL.

They demolished their stadium and building a new one, playing there 2 years.
