I heard that there was a 5 hour QB meeting at Halas hall today, which caused Jay to miss the show.

Browns are favored :-s I mean, I guess the Bears have been really bad on the road, especially against bad teams.

I hope Cutler starts and is good and everyone shuts up.

This city is so stupid.

Every NFL city would be reacting the exact same way under the exact same circumstances.

Doesn't make it any less obnoxious. Plus I'd have to think that some of the other major cities have at least one mainstream voice of reasons when it comes to these types of things. Maybe not, but it just feels like Chicago is packed the gills with nothing but meatball sports reporters and analysts.

B and B coined the term "meatball"

So say the Bears decide to let Cutler walk and put that money elsewhere in the team. Do you see them trading up to get a QB in the draft?

No.

How about tag and trade Cutler for Tennessee ' first rounder?

Don't be modest, sulley; that's all you.

Well yes, the guys on the radio can hear my thoughts and often reference them.

I gotta plead ignorance on B&B; I've heard them brought up before when it comes to their opinions not being the usual meatballery, but I can never get past the one that sounds like a huge doof and always does the "by cracky" or whatever the [expletive] nonsense.

It's really just Bernstein. Boers is the clown that shows up to keep the attention of the rabble.

I could be persuaded

Boers is really the more tolerable of the two, he basically doesn't even care about sports anymore, which is hilarious given that he's on a 5 hour long sports show every day. The show is more entertaining when they aren't strictly dealing with sports anyway.

Bears still only have a 26.3% chance of making the playoffs, unfortunately, so I'd hold the horses and the whole "break through, dangerous team in the playoffs" stuff.

That Minnesota loss was just devastating.

If Cutler and Weeden aren't ready to go this week, this game becomes a who's who of recent Bears backup QB history.

Jason Campbell would start, his backup Caleb Hanie.

Should be interesting to see how this game plays out. I don't think the Browns should be favored. They can't score with the Bears, and they give up their fair share of points, despite being decent in yards against. Browns also aren't a good running team at all. And it's not like they have the ability/history there like Baltimore or the Rams did before they gashed the Bears. If you can't keep a 7th straight player from going over 100 yards rushing, there's no excuses. Campbell has also thrown for like 350 in his last 3 games. Bears can't allow that either.

The Browns waived Hanie.

Agreed. Especially in a draft year where there are a half-dozen or so intriguing QB prospects.

EDIT: how about to Jacksonville for their number one? (Maybe I like Jay too much to do that to him)

Briggs not cleared after evaluation yesterday. Will be evaluated again in a couple of days, but doesn't sound optimistic for this week.

Looks like Trestman's adamant "the good news is that [briggs] will play again this year" statement after the Washington game might not come true.

I love Cutler, and would love to see him back on a reasonable contract, which is really all he should be getting at this point. The injuries and wear and tear on his body don't really dictate a big contract.

But, after watching McCown easily navigate this offense down the field, I'm pretty convinced you could get just about anybody worth a grain of salt to do the same. The only thing I really grade McCown out better than Cutler is his ability to avoid contact in the pocket. The protection at the line and 4 big playmakers makes this current Bears offense a nightmare to any opposing defense.

How is 3-2 suddenly, "oh yeah you can't mess with that winning streak"?

But they should be 4-1 cuz Gould should've made that FG and Trestman should've run another play and herp derp!

Yeah, the whole "don't mess with what's working" thing is ludicrous; were the Bears not doing well when Cutler was starting? It's not like they suddenly became unbeatable when McCown was put in, or they suddenly started winning after a terrible start.

So who will Haden be covering this Sunday, Marshall or Jeffery?

To me, Jeffery should draw the opposing teams' top coverage, but I can't say that's what will happen.

It's an awesome situation for the Bears.
