i guess i need to care about OU at this point but considering there's still three one-loss SEC teams ahead of us in the polls it's pretty pointless

Following the Auburn game this weekend, Ole Miss doesn't leave Mississippi for the rest of the regular season. Six straight home games then an away game at Starkville.

At least 2 of them will lose again, probably all 3. Georgia and LSU still have to play Alabama to win out and A&M is definitely not beating LSU until they grow a defense.

plus you can't forget about those 4-0 tigers of ol mizzou just waiting to make a big leap

sorry, a very reputable SEC power ranking had them dead last.

i should have said that im working on the assumption OU doesn't go undefeated this year. Im thinking we'll have the classic slip up against Texas Tech or the classic loss to a shitty OSU team. No way a one-loss team from this conference is doing another other than losing in a BCS game to someone.

Oh, well yeah, if you lose you're cooked. A slip-up is probably what it will take, though - the Big 12 doesn't look very good at all and you're probably the best team in it.

Ha! I have never claimed to be reputable, but I do see them in the bottom 4. Where would you have them?

Next week at Vandy is a litmus test, but otherwise the only chances they have for wins are Tennessee or Kentucky. I don't know when this became me versus Missouri, but I just see them winning 2 conference games at most.

A quick Google search shows two SEC power rankings that include yesterday's games, one has Mizzou 8th, the other 9th. If you want to include last week there's two more that put them 8th that haven't been updated.

Mizzou may not win a ton of SEC games this year, their defense may let them down a time too much, and for the 2nd consecutive year they aren't able to draw Arkansas, Miss State, or Auburn from the West, so their schedule may not be much help. But going by the aforementioned "Backup QBs don't count" theorem, Mizzou was pretty middle of the pack in the SEC last year. I don't see much evidence to think they're demonstrably worse than two teams they beat last year, or the bottom half of the West either. My intuition is that people might be surprised by how well they fare against Vandy(and against top half teams at home), but I am an optimist and I've been wrong before.

Again, I think the Mizzou/Vandy game will tell the tale. I could be way off base but I'm just not seeing it yet. I also am biased on the Hogs but I see them as about to put it all together.

Starting next season, Ark/MO will be permanent interdivisional opponents as the last game on the schedule.

OSU vs Northwestern should be a great game. I think Northwestern can take them for sure.

OSU is good but they're going to turn the ball over a couple times against an opportunistic defense. And I'm not particularly concerned about scoring, assuming that Mark is back.

The key for me is how our backup CB plays, and who it's going to be (since White has gotten consistently picked on since the Jones injury).

Homecoming, GameDay, new unis... Should be awesome.

A&M is definitely not beating LSU until they grow a defense.

While there is no doubt that our D has to improve, they really only need to be average for us to beat just about anyone in the country. It's not like LSU's D is all that great this year, either.

Uk is getting closer to 2 years since they last beat a BCS team

Child's play. KU just broke a 22-game losing streak to FBS teams. (We lucked out vs La Tech.) We haven't beaten a team from a BCS team since scoring 35 unanswered points to beat Colorado 52-45 on NOVEMBER 6, 2010.

Good job ole miss.

The Ole Miss theater department's production of The Laramie Project, which depicts the reaction to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, was interrupted Tuesday night by a stupid, hateful audience, which included (and was instigated by) about 20 Ole Miss football players.

From The Daily Mississippian:

According to the play’s director and theater faculty member Rory Ledbetter, some audience members used derogatory slurs like “[expletive]” and heckled both cast members and the characters they were portraying for their body types and sexual orientations. Ledbetter said the audience’s reactions included “borderline hate speech.”

Stupid jocks. Embarrassing.

More of just a stupid jerks thing than just jocks.

The players, who were in attendance as part of a course requirement, weren't the only ones in the audience being dicks. But according the the play's director and members of the cast, they were basically ring-leading the thing, cheering others on to heckle the cast.

The players were ordered by the athletic department to apologize to the cast, but it seemed like they "didn't know what they were apologizing for," and the apology for the team as a whole came from one lone player. No players involved have been named thus far. The athletic department also emailed the theater department chair to apologize.
