Navarro is awesome. I don't think he will ever replicate this season again, not even close.

Would still love to have him back, although I'm not familiar if there are any good backup catchers in the FA market this year. Their certainly are not any in the system.

I thought they were going to use Stroop in the closer role? Kyle, Sveum!!!!!

Rondon is hitting 97-98 and appears to be getting his control back. I think he's put himself squarely in the bullpen mix for next year. I really like Grimm coming out of the pen as well.

Strop is capable of giving up runs, too. And it wasn't a save situation.

You put your closer in at home in the 9th of a tie game. Baseball 101.

I'd still like to give Grimm a chance to start, though.

Normally, I'd agree completely, but I'm happy to just let Arrieta/ Rusin/Hendricks go after the 5th spot next year. Put Grimm and Villanueva in the pen right from the start and add a frontline pitcher to the rotation. Injuries obviously could change my thinking here.

What happened with Gregg post game today? I overheard something like he might be released or something, or I could be hearing things

What happened with Gregg post game today? I overheard something like he might be released or something, or I could be hearing things

I was following on Twitter so I might be missing a piece, but I think it's something like this:

- After the game, Sveum told Gregg that Strop would be closing for the last 10 games

- Gregg, by some fault of his, Sveum's, or both, also seemed to be under the impression that he was getting released

- Gregg was not happy, and vented to the media about the way that this process happened

- Theo called Gregg into Sveum's office and clarifies things

- Gregg comes out and apologizes for misunderstanding

- Theo comes out and clarifies what's happening with Gregg, says he didn't respect that Gregg vented to the media, but any disciplinary action(like actually releasing him) probably wouldn't happen(clearer heads and all)

- Gregg apologizes further, tracking down reporters up in the press box.

Anytime we want to stop reenacting scenes from the first half of Major League is OK with me.

Is that some of your crushing logic you're shoveling..... or some of your cat anuses ???

The Strop decision came before yesterday's game.

Some in the media suggested that Gregg getting cut was a possible form of punishment for his venting session, but this was all before his apology. I never got the impression Gregg himself thought he'd be cut unless I missed a few tweets.

Yeesh, I guess I was trying to give Gregg the benefit of the doubt for being that angry, especially since he had earned that incentive.
