He might turn out to be the best offensive coach of all time, and it wouldn't justify the crap written about him this past month

Seems like that would.

in which they're 3rd in yards per game, just a foot behind Denver in 2nd

(they were 15th last year)

It's a little early to make statements about teams yet, but if you look at their first two games, they faced two defenses that are bringing up the rear in the NFL in pts/game. KC's defense, on the other hand, is near the top.

What sticks out to me is Philly's terrible TOP. I thought the idea was to run a ton of plays and keep the ball.

Strike that, reverse it.

Also, I'm not a die-hard NFL fan so I may have missed the boat, but I certainly never got the "Chip Kelly is gonna put up fifty a game on the NFL, take it to the bank" consensus that seems to be the source of the backlash here. Was this an actual thing or is it a "They won't stop doing Chip Kelly features on SportsCenter" thing?

The latter, I think.

After week 1, I think there was a fair amount of talk of him revolutionizing the NFL. And Jaws or someone wrote an article just recently about it that smart football linked to bc the packaged plays have been around for years.

What people are we talking about because a lot of people believed the Tebow hype because he knew how to win or whatever.

I mean non morons.

There were a lot of people who knew Tebow sucked, because they weren't morons, but also thought Brian Kelly was doing something knew and revolutionary and nobody would be able to stop it.

Depending on exactly was said, the lines seem fuzzy to me. If it was people talking about Philly revolutionizing the NFL, I'll just dump them in with the Tebow is a winner crew. If it's people talking about Chip Kelly successfully adapting his offense, it was too early after two weeks and too early after three weeks to make a final judgement and anyone doing otherwise us just jumping the gun.

The Redskins weren't prepared for the Eagles game plan. I seem to recall that in the second half, their adjustments slowed the Eagles offense down. Every other team now has an opportunity to prepare for that offense, and unfortunately for the Chargers, they aren't good enough defensively to stop any offense.

Locker should be able to match his combined first two week performances this week against the Charger secondary pretty easily.

As far as the Eagles, Michael Vick is still who we always remember. A guy with a strong, but very inaccurate, arm. Even though one of the interceptions was overturned, it SHOULD have been an interception. It was that poorly thrown. Dude was a turnover machine last night.

I don't watch SportsCenter, so I don't know, but I know that Bill Barnwell probably figures somewhat into the backlash since he's the most irritating NFL writer on the planet and he spent an entire column gushing over the Eagles.

Chip Kelly had started to made his mark on the NFL well before he was hired by Philly:

That is interesting, especially now.

Just a little story: I had a chance to explore the Ducks practice facility a couple years ago while visiting Eugene. I didn't really know much about Kelly's philosophy at the time other than it was an uptempo team that was doing well in the Pac 10.

Anyway, their main practice field is indoors, and all around the inside are posters with sayings like "the difference between winning and losing is a hundreth of a second," stuff like that. It was all about eeking every last little bit of speed. The posters are huge, stretching half the length of the field. I thought, wow, indoctrination (not necessarily in a bad way).

It was an off day, so the place was completely empty. Except for one car in the parking lot: coach Kelly's Benz SUV. You could tell by his customized license plate.

After reading that article, I kind of wish I had managed to see one of the practices. Would have been fun to witness.

Kansas City has not turned the ball over once this season. Wonder what the record for most consecutive games/quarters to start a season without a TO js

Which team in the AFC North or NFC East gets their division's first non-divisional win of the season? And does either division remain winless in that respect after this weekend?

Dallas will beat St. Louis.

that's a fine and a concussion

Almost certainly.

Apparently people don't care about QBs leading receivers into coverage over the middle anymore.
