http://www.csnchicago.com/cubs-talk/cubs-minor-league-roundup-johnson-soler-vitters

In hopes of keeping his innings down, McLeod said the Cubs are going to slot Johnson at the back end of the Daytona rotation, while also utilizing the minor-league All-Star break. Johnson doesn't figure to notch his first High-A start until the middle of next week.

That's worded poorly, but he's referring to the MWL all-star break, which combined with slotting him at the end of the Daytona rotation after the promotion won't have him pitch til next week, giving him ~10 days between starts.

Junior Lake HR.

Off to wonderful start. HR is nice to see as he cooled off a lot since his first week and a half of the season. Though he's hitting .333 in his last 11 (including today), all his hits were singles with only 1 BB and 9Ks. Started with 5 doubles, 3 BBs, and only 2 Ks in his first 25 ABs.

Ugh, why is that that if the most middling of big leaguers has a hang nail, it's plastered all over Twitter within 10 minutes, but in the minors, a top prospect can be pulled from a game and it can be days before we know why?

Is this a rhetorical question or do you seriously not know the answer?

Paul Blackburn: 5IP 3H 1R 0ER 1W 4K with a 10-0 GB/FB ratio. Two starts? Screw it. I'm starting the bandwagon.

if he just runs over the NWL, i'll be a little disappointed that he didn't play full season ball considering his reputation of being very polished.

I'm on board. Mostly due to our lack of quality pitching prospects.

HR Alcantara.

there really hasn't been much buzz about him. but a middle infielder with the 6th best OPS in a double-A league, at age 21, is pretty damn notable.

I agree. But I've been hearing some buzz out there about him. Somebody said he was in his top 100 recently, I forget who though. Some respected expert type...

Lake with 2 homers tonight.

68 AB must not be enough to get SCS in a lather about his .397 BA and 1.006 OPS.

Prospect guys hate middle infielders unless they are sure to stick at short. Which AA has very little chance of at the moment.
