Scott threw 7 innings, allowing only one earned run, but didn't strike anyone out. THAT'S NOT HOW YOU DO IT

Rough game for Soler tonight. 0-5 with 2 strikeouts, and 0 balls hit out of the IF. His final strikeout came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, with a 7-6 score.

The good news is Baez went 2-5, with a pair of singles (and 1 K). Baez loaded the bases with a single with 1 out in the 9th. Quick math shows Baez and Soler should be separated by less than 10 points in OPS at this point. Obviously, Soler's is more balanced while Baez is SLG heavy, but don't be so quick to right off Baez as the #1 prospect.

Lake 2-3 with a double, steal, and a walk.

I hope he's up on the ML roster sometime around the trade deadline, if not sooner

I'm right there with you. Baez's OPS is actually 6 points higher than Soler's at this moment. Clearly, Soler has shown a better approach and has better peripherals, but I think that can be offset somewhat by their relative defensive values. It seems that Baez's errors have decreased since he started hitting better, maybe he was taking his struggles at the plate out into the field with him? Baez is far from a perfect prospect, but he is still a guy that has the tools to stick at short and huge power. Really though, you can make a case for any of the top 4 to be out #1 prospect, but I would go Soler/Baez (1a/1b), Bryant, Almora, with AA and Pierce holding down the next two spots.
