I expect some heated debate over whether Soler or Bryant is a better prospect, with Soler winning at first but evening out once Bryant gets some pro time under his belt.

Yeah, I was just getting ready to pose the "Rank our top 4 prospects" question.

Appel is quoting scripture. I'm sure that would have played out wonderfully in the locker room.

Vogelbach is still the best hitter in the system.

Thank you for making me happy we didn't pick him.

I go:

Bryant

Soler

Almora

Baez

But I could easily be swayed to flop the first two. It's very close.

I'd like to see one of the prospect guys comment on where Bryant might fall on the top 100.

Does anyone think the extra time had to do with getting someone to agree (or someone else not agreeing) to contract terms?

Come one Manaea at 41 (if his medicals checked out)

Not worth it.

Yeah, I've been soured on taking the injured, dropping guy ever since Brownlie, tbh.

There should be other signability guys with better health plus some intriguing, healthy college arms (one of Alex Gonzalez, Alex Balog, Andrew Thurman, Aaron Blair or Chris Anderson should be there).

He played there until his junior year in HS. No way he doesn't play OF in the pros.

There's no way he's 6'1"

Are you talking about Clint Frazier?

If so, I agree. He doesn't look like 6'1".

Soler is 7 weeks younger than Bryant. Given all his wonderful peripherals, I need to see Bryant on a professional field before I think about him over Soler. I'm apparently higher than Almora than most, but I think he and Bryant are pretty level at this point.

That's why I'm surprised.

Then he should probably stop getting outhit by so many guys.
