So you can maul a player blatantly in the NHL and stop a goal?

Wow. What a crap rule that is.

not only that, but the guy that gets mauled gets called for a penalty.

someone is [expletive] bought and sold.

How do the rules not say that play in progress continues there? It's completely away from the play, regardless of what is called??

Hockey doesn't have a rule where you can play the advantage, probably

it does though

example: Game 3, a Wings player was clobbered and lay down on the ice in the opposite end, meanwhile Keith (i think) lobs a pass down ice leading to a breakaway goal for Kane

Not when the calls are coincidental.

Then that's even worse. If you can play advantage on "coincidental" penalties and he didn't call it, that's nuts.

We're gonna lose to the refs aren't we.

And then yahoo [expletive] sports is going to write a column that says it all balanced out.

Kill me. Kill me right now.

the guys are stunned. just stunned, you can see it on their faces. if they can come back from that they deserve the cup right now.

I know how I and we feel right now. I can't imagine what the players feel like.

Probably pissed. Which could be good or bad.

If a team is on the attack and the event is happening far away from the play, I'm pretty sure play shouldnt be stopped unless the attacking team has committed a penalty.

One thing to call the penalty. Another to not give the Hawks a power play on top of it. Just score 30 seconds in and just forget that play happened.

I'd love that, but you rip the soul from guys and it's hard to expect gold.

If there's an alternate ref in the building, he might want to suit up.

And the ref that made that call should find the back door

I think the OT intermission helps them get rid of the shock and bewilderment and refocused.

Man even the other players in the league are chiming in to talk about how bad the call was on Twitter.

Yeah this isn't up for debate. It's an atrocity.

they could have overruled his call, stopped play, got their heads together and thought about it.
