Thank you for pouring all of your resources into another winner Ricketts Fam, we are so lucky to have fans as owners.

Mully and Hanley are reporting that the Ricketts are considering selling a minority stake in the team to fund the renovations. Ricketts is going to be on the show later.

Any thoughts on if this is good or not? I do not know how to interpret this. On one hand I would think that it is good because more cash will flow into the organization, but on the other hand I'm thinking #broketomricketts.

See Wrigley Renovation thread. I won't.

I can't see how they would be broke…..or at least "rich people" broke.

I have to believe that if they had any worries about cash flow even short ted, they would have approached the renovations they way they have. I have no doubt that they could have easily gotten tax payers to foot the bill or a lot of it.

We can think that Tom Ricketts is "dumb" or in over his head, but successful people like them don't make just make decisions randomly or on their own. They have advisors and money people who aren't dumb.

I think it is more of a PR battle than a cash or knowledge battle.

I think this is magnified as the team itself is not winning the ownership any fans, so they are treading lightly.

OK, this part was pretty good.

"Well, I think that the key is to keep moving forward and keep talking," Ricketts said. "I expect something will work for us."

Stop me if you've heard that before. Rust Cohle was right, man. Time is a flat circle.

TIL that nettlesome is a word and not a terrible typo.

Ricketts comes off as a clown in that Greenberg piece.

"I don't have a 100 percent clear picture, but we definitely want to be ready to get going this season if we can," he said of the renovations.

So, what would the Cubs start this season?

"Well, there's a whole plan," Ricketts said. "There'd a whole bunch of things that would happen as soon as we get started. It's pretty involved. There's a whole bunch of things that happen in sequence."

I'm confused, so now we're just assuming that nothing will be done to improve the MLB roster in the next 12 months? Or that everyone's 2014 projection matches their 2013? The 2012 roster was better than the one they inherited, and the 2013 roster was better than 2012. But they're just going to say, "naw, we're good" to the near entirety of the roster come October?

This team is already frustrating as hell to watch. Much like the ownership.

At least there was no fake hot start to make me watch games. Now I know I can check out until Baez comes up.
