What would be the most northeastern team any of our affiliates play in a season?

Wondering how far I'd have to travel to see any of our guys next year.

Pairing up our top prospects based on the nature in which they were acquired, which group do you think will represent best at the MLB level?

DRAFT (College)

Bryant & Schwarber

DRAFT (High School)

Baez & Almora

FREE AGENT

Soler & Al Contra

TRADE

Russell & Edwards (or McKinney, depending on your preference)

Soler & Alcantara. Im probably a minority but I still feel Soler could end uo the best pure hitter of the bunch.

I actually feel like most people feel that way. He just needs to stay on the field for more than 20 games at a time,

I wonder what Brett Jackson and Josh Vitters are thinking about these days.

Learning Japanese.

i really think so.

I'd be surprised if they don't get another look by another MLB organization before they have to head overseas. This isn't ... Micah Hoffpauir (age-related) or Matt Murton (someone who really didn't have the "pedigree" of these two guys). They are still only 25 and 26 ... 1st round busts tend to get extra looks before they have to go abroad, and it's not like these two have the track-record that a Japanese team is going to offer a bundle to convince them to go.

Is there any chance we could package Jackson and Vitters for some lower-level arm lottery ticket types?

Maybe guys who have control but stuff may not be good enough or guys with stuff but lack control or some injury issue guys?

Nah, the fact they're on the 40 man hurts. We'll DFA them and someone MAY take a flyer with a 40 man spot, but I'm not sure of it at this point. Pedigree says someone will, but if so, I doubt they last long.

No trade value at all though.

Yup. I'd argue that it's a toss-up between Soler, Vogelbach, and Schwarber for the best pure offensive hitter. Bryant and Baez have elite power, but the other three are close to them (or could equal) and their patience and hit tool could make it play atleast as much in game. Bryant and Baez's K problems will limit their OBP potential value. I do not see either one with consistent 400 OBP (or close) potential. They both seem like 350 guys with elite power -- which is fantastic -- but I can envision the other three with 400 OBP potential (and Rizzo).

The Aiken news made me think about Barret Loux. Didn't realize he underwent TJS during spring training. Didn't he have shoulder issues, though, that scared the D-Backs off from signing him?

Vogelbach is that good of a hitter?

Vogelbach isn't close to the hitter Bryant is. That's an especially weird post given the username.

I had to go back and look what was said, my goodness how is the vogelbach reputation what it is with people? Just because he has to be a offensive beast to be worth anything does not mean he is an offensive beast.

Well said. Vogelbach has 3 more homers than Almora and 24 less than Bryant. Vogelbach is better at making contact, sure, but he doesn't have a chance to match Bryant's power. Like, not even close. It was fun to dream on him after his showing in Boise in 2012, but he's just not that type of hitter that he badly needs to be.

I would argue that vogelbach has one of the more polished approaches in our minor leagues. If he played shortstop and played it below average he'd be in the top 50.

I mean it's not like his wOBA is average even in a rather down year.

This is such a huge qualifier

How would Javy be viewed as a 1B/DH?

I'm just saying that he's a good hitter and he'll likely be a good hitter in the major leagues.

He won't have a position because he's not that good of a hitter
