Len was daydreaming about Alberto getting hit by a pitch and breaking his hamate bone before he inevitably bounced harmlessly into the tailor made double play. Edited by weis21

Some of the highest priced tickets in the MLB. Why would anyone pay to see this crap?

Fewer are.

Cubs drew 222,696 to their first six home games last year.

This year, it's 194,708.

If we average the same shortfall for the whole year, that'd be 378k fewer fans than last year (and that's just the announced attendance). At a conservative estimate of $65/fan (including concessions and merchandise), that's a $25m revenue dropoff.

I wonder how the weather compared.

Using B-R's gametime temp average.

2012: 52 degrees

2013: 44 degrees

Kyle, stop being a shut-in freak; this is a board with a ton of people who actually live in Chicago.

Yes, it's been noticeably cooler here this spring compared to last year, which had a lot of unusually warm/hot days early on. But blaming this only on cold weather isn't realistic.

Going into today, the Cubs had a .261 BABIP on a 21% LD%, and have 4 hits on 23 balls in play today. I hate you baseball.

Awwww, feeling a little sulky? Better hurry and update your sig! Then complain about the FO on 38 different sites!

I don't get the joke. That's exactly what I'm going to do.

Perfunctory fake rally comment.

Right, because you're that particularly annoying strand of Cubs fans that finds bizarre ways to revel in baseball crappiness.

Just the opposite. I keep hoping that if enough people acknowledge that things are not going well, there might be some pressure on the front office to fix it.

It's a long shot, I know.
