Dammit, I flipped to the blackhawks game right before the Castro AB, came back to see it was 2-1, saw Soriano single and then flipped back to the Hawks as Schierholtz stepped to the plate.

Rizzo has looked pretty clueless lately.

Doesn't help that he's getting rung up on garbage strike 3 calls too, but yeah, he looks bad.

REALLY liking Schierholtz.

Definitely!! Why not just let him play everyday the next 10 games or so? Get tired of the platoon thing, especially when one guy is on fire, and the other side of the platoon is doing squat.

I liken him to Ludwick when he got out of the west coast and to St. Louis. Timing and circumstances work right for him to have a productive couple seasons if he's used right. Really glad he's gotten off to such a great start.

There's a really good chance that one guy in the platoon is "on fire" largely because of the platoon. Continue to play to his strengths.

i'm really liking the idea of Lincecum at bargain basement prices this winter

He's dropped off so far the past couple of years. Some people out here implying he is a major pot head, and that it's contributed a lot to his downfall.

Any particular reason why? He's lost 4 mph from his fastball from his Cy Young years, I have to think he's near cooked.

Lincecum the late inning reliever is an interesting idea to me though.

Yeah, I get that, but throw him out there against some lefties and see how he does. Maybe find out he never got enough of a chance to prove he can play everyday. They have nothing to lose, and maybe a lot to gain by trying it.....

Probably best to just stick to the platoon and let him ride it out.

He has a little Mark DeRosa in him in terms of likability.

i seem to remember him being kind of a douche when he wasn't getting playing time somewhere, then kind of forcing a trade

Yeah, if the Cubs went after him I'd want it as a reliever or maybe a closer and that's it. The velocity dip is scary.
