I don't read it or watch that stuff when it's on TV, but if the player grants the interview then it would seem he's willing to talk about it - and some like talking about it. It's dumb, but some people like that "human interest" type angle.

 

It's the critical, admonishing tone that Reilly took in the article that I have a real problem with. That's garbage.

You cannot expect rick reilly to not insert himself into a story if he has any opportunity to do so. Sort of like when tiger woods cheated on his wife on rick reilly or when lance armstrong took steriods to impress rick reilly or when sammy sosa did not submit to the testing requirements of rick reilly or that barry bonds was a jerk off the field to rick reilly. The fact that rick reilly inserted himself into the very personal decision of an adult not seeking out biological parents should not surprise anybody.

George Clooney directed a screenplay he wrote. He must charm these people somehow. Hes probably the Van Gundy brothers of sportwriting and wont do this or that as to not impede the sovereignty of the beat writers. There must be some unwritten sportswriting code that reilly sticks by or something because he is not a talented writer, he doesnt even attempt to investigate anything, hes been duped by wikipedia and fake twitters a number of times.
