Cutler on Marshall: "It’s just a matter of him pushing his hip through things when it gets tight a little bit."

Sounds like we're talking about something entirely not related to football here

The Pro Bowl linebacker told Fox Sports (via CBS) that it was Wilson who ended Urlacher’s career prematurely

What sort of convoluted attribution is this? He was on Fox Sports when he said this stuff. Did this writer find out about it from somebody at CBS?

will you just credit the [expletive] kapman already

I don't get it. He was wide open last week and dropped a couple easy passes. That doesn't tell me "hip is hurting him!"

It says: concentrate on catching the ball, dude.

I'm thinking this is a non-story pre-season flap to generate copy. Marshall will be fine.

Why would Marshall be looking to generate copy?

Why would Marshall be looking to generate copy?

Not Marshall. The reporters covering him.

But Marshall is the one who said the stuff.

Does it really matter?

Jay makes me feel better...

“It’s B,” Cutler said. “He’s going to take it hard for a couple of days and then he’ll snap out of it and he’ll be the guy we need next week. This week we don’t need him, so he can stay on the ledge for a couple of more days and then come back next week.

I can see Jay just smacking him, the huge hulking werewolf of a man.

He only recently started actually getting into games and was just OK, still clearly slowed by the injury. If he was on the opening day roster the Dolphins would owe a backup G who wasn't at full speed an extra $1.5 million. Not a surprising move, and it wouldn't surprise me if they resigned him to a cheaper deal if nobody snatches him up, either.

Trestman said Marshall's upcoming personal days were scheduled before training camp. Do you believe that?

Not at all. Well, not specifically. I feel like he was probably scheduled not to participate in the last game, and Trestman was aware he may need some time off at some point.

Bears have had some discussions about trading WR Earl Bennett. Trades not easy to make this time of year, though.

Trade for what? He's coming off a concussion. That doesn't make any sense.

That along with being overpaid.

That is just some noise.

@mikecwright: Just spoke to Brandon Marshall and he says he's fine. Said he had to attend to a personal matter. Said this has been planned since camp.

@mikecwright: Marshall said he feels great, just not whree he'd like to be at this time. Said the frustration from his recovery has just been on his mind.

@mikecwright: On his absence: "It's really nothing serious, but I'll just keep my personal business to myself."

@mikecwright: Marshall: "My hip's gonna be great. But at this point, it's all about the recovery process, which has been a little frustrating."
