Well we get to see if Emery has any balls. Just drop the hammer on the entire coaching staff.

Eh. I'd really have no problem with Bates and Marinelli sticking around.

That's the thing. You don't want to rock the boat on defense too much because the defense is good enough. And they have enough older guys on D that you might not be able to teach them "new tricks" so to speak. The problem with that is this is Lovie's defense. Maybe you can keep Marinelli and bring in an offensive coach/staff, but that's a longshot.

Don't mind either, but I don't think it will hurt if they are tossed either. (Is Bates, Cutler's guy? If so he should stay actually)

At this point, what on earth would be the point?

He is. Anything you can do to maximize Cutler I'm in favor for. I definitely think the offense is salvageable. That said, I don't think Bates is the only solution. If they want to hire a HC who can bring in someone who isn't an OC monster, hey, great.

Bates hast done ANYTHING noticeable to maximize Cutler this year.

Yeah, this offense is horrible like I said 2 games ago. You can literally get rid of anybody not named Cutler and Marshall.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind keeping bates in some form I guess, but my worry is that the big change they would make to the coaching staff would just be to fire tice and move Bates to OC. I don't think that would be good enough. I want a real OC in here.

Well if Washington had lost today, I'd still be pretty confident of the playoffs. As it stands right now, it doesn't look very good.

Lovie has run out of chances to restructure his coaching staff. Anything short of him being gone will be a disappointment.

I have no idea what his input/sway is. Apparently he and Cutler have a really good relationship and they had success in Denver and that's about all I know. I have zero problem if he goes; I'm just saying I'd also have no problem if they kept him around.

If I wasn't a Bears fan, I would so be rooting for Washington to overtake them and get in. I mean what would be more fun, the Bears as they look now or Griffin (assuming he can come back and look healthy) causing some damage.

Yeah, but that would be really stupid.

I could see a complete franchise change of direction. Fire Lovie and staff, don't resign Urlacher, focus on offense. It would have to be a wholesale change though. I think there's too many guys that are Lovie's guys. It may have to be a rebuild situation like the Cubs (although an NFL franchise can make a much quicker transition obviously).

Just from the post game quotes I'm seeing on twitter, I think we are officially melting down. Marshall referencing people losing their jobs (he included himself but of course that's dumb and he knows it). Forte blaming the o-line for the goal line debacle.

Thankfully I haven't seen any of what I'm sure was Lovie's typical post-loss bull [expletive].

I don't see any new head coach worth a damn not wanting to bring his own guys in.
