Out two weeks with a concussion is not a good sign.

Wasn't that good before it. But he's not even a reliable #3 anymore. Would be best if the team found another WR better than him.

He had the makings of a fairly decent player that one year.

I think it's Marshall's way of daring GB to put single coverage on him, which no team in their right mind would do right now.

In other news, Woodson has officially been ruled out, so the Bears catch a bit of a break there.

Hopefully Tim Jennings plays.

Hayward and House have been much better than Woodson was this year. Shields has also had a pretty good year, when he's actually been able to play.

Oh okay, you're right. My bad.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said. You know me, eternal Packers optimist!

All I'm saying is that Woodson really isn't that great anymore. Father Time caught up to him. Just look at Pro Football Focus.

Yeah Woodson is really no good at coverage any more, Hayward/Shields/etc. are all better cover corners. Woodson's only good at playing that rover position where he can blitz/break up the short passes/go for strips.

Like I said on my blog, the Bears aren't going to win this game but I would like to see some positives come out of this game instead of the typical "throw the film away" type game the Bears have had on offense against GB recently.

1. Keep moving the ball offensively. Almost 800 yards of offense has been lost in the last 2 games. Keep running the ball. Keep involving Forte, Hester and Jeffery in the passing game just enough. Keep moving the pocket. Keep moving Brandon Marshall around.

2. With Jennings, Urlacher and Melton out someone needs to step up on D. The guy I'm looking for today has been quiet all year but has had some solid games vs GB. JULIUS PEPPERS! He needs to get pressure on a below average OL.

3. Take some chances. The Bears have played GB conservatively every time they've played them. I want to see some outside the box stuff today. Play like your season depends on this game. I'd like to see them make something happen on special teams. Go after a punt like they did in Tenn. And I'll always remember the crazy fake out on the punt return a couple years ago that got called back. That could still work. They beat the Bears on a fake FG. Give it back to them. Blitz Rodgers a little. Nelson is out and he really is the tough matchup down the field. Really nothing to lose. Still can get in the playoffs with a loss and a little help.

So I'm thinking that with Cousins starting for Washington today, if the Browns can somehow eek out a victory over the Skins, losing today won't hurt our playoff odds that much. If we can beat Arizona and Detroit, we will be in. The only teams that could tie us at 10-6 are the Vikings and Cowboys. The Cowboys don't matter because we beat them and the Vikings have Houston and GB left after this week (vs. STL a team they could easily lose to as well).

I'm thinking that if the Redskins and Bears lose tidy the Bears probably still are looking at a 75% shot at getting in. At least on paper. It's hard to ignore the downward spiral of injuries and poor play that have Bears fans on the ledge but hypothetically if any coach can keep his guys playing hard and thinking positively its Lovie.

Also raw I was just thinking about posting that a player that absolutely needs to step up today is Peppers. He's the only person on the Dline that I trust to be able to pressure Rodgers and the Packers line is something a great pash rusher should be able to exploit. Rodgers have had a few games this year where he has been pressured so much that he's stopped looking downfield and not been nearly as effective. I know peppers has been hurt and invisible lately, but he's gotta find a way to fight through those double teams to get some pressures on Rodgers because I don't see Wootten, Izzy, Toeina and Co. managing much even vs. single coverage.

I do think the Bears will lose today but I don't think there's no chance that they can win although the only legitimate reason I can give at this point is "any given Sunday".
