And yet despite that they're still in a position with a very good record where several of those wins are hinged on the offense. The defense had an amazing run, but to say they're in the position they're in only because of the defense is simply incorrect. A truly horrible offense is an offense devoid of talent, and that's clearly not the case with the Bears. Their offense is severely flawed, but that means they can't maximize on the talent they have, not that it's just a [expletive] offense.

I've been hugely critical of the Bears offense this year, but from the standpoint that they're wasting the really, really good talent they have in there thanks to a nightmare of an OL and a terrible OC as opposed to just saying "IT SUCKS!!!!"

The offense is devoid of talent outside of Marshall and Cutler. Jeffrey is developing and shouldn't be relied upon as a rookie and Forte has been banged up and not playing well.

The defense has been so good that is has contributed in a large way to our offensive numbers. So when strictly analyzing our offense, the stats take a hit when eliminating the defensive scores. Our average field position is very good on top of it.

Back to tomorrow's game, I think Jay will play well once again. He's been most impressive to me with his ability to play well despite the lack of pass catchers and pass blockers around him. I am worried about our defense and I feel this game will be close.

Anything to get off this Lovie conversation...

Ten years ago, then Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Tice trumpeted the "Randy Ratio."

The scheme - to direct 40 percent of all passes at Pro Bowl receiver Randy Moss - didn't quite work in a 6-10 season.

Viking fans, you may not care anymore, but Tice is back at the Metrodome, and he's quietly depended on "Marshall Math."

o here's the math: of the Bears 354 pass attempts, 138 of them have been aimed at Marshall. That's 39 percent. Not exactly 40 but close enough.

A few weeks ago, Tice didn't want to talk about the "Randy Ratio."

"No, no," he said. "We don't talk about that."

Marshall needs 9 catches today for 100 on the season, and 14 more for a new career-high. 124 is certainly reachable which would put him 2nd all-time in a single season behind Marvin Harrison's ridiculous 143 in 2002.

Jeffrey to start alongside Marshall.

This is very surprising to me until I realized Bennett is out and Hester is still terrible, so I guess you gotta go with what you got.

when's the next Thursday/Sunday/Monday night game for the Bears? I'm tired of lousy Bengal/Brown games preempting the Bears

My friend who lived in Ohio for a time called these non-primetime games "Buffalo Wild Wings" days

Good to see that defense that's been "carrying the team" this year pick right up where they left off from last week, when they lost us the game.

Oh well..i had this one as a loss. In terms of making the playoffs the key games are the last 2 in Arizona and Detroit as they are the 2 easiest

This is horrid. How can the D turn so bad so fast?

Having several starters out/playing out of position/playing hurt is the first step.

Out - Paea, Urlacher, Jennings

Out of position - Roach

Hurt - Conte, Tillman, Briggs, Peppers (i'm convinced he's playing hurt)

Forgot to point out that in the last 3 meaningful games (meaning it has meaning for at least 1 team) at the Metrodome, the Bears have been outscored 90-37

2011 - Last game of the year both teams eliminated

2010 - Played at University of Minnesota stadium

2009 - 34-14 loss

2008 - 36-10 loss

2007 - 20-13 loss

House of horrors
