Add Tennessee's Tyler Bray, Justin Hunter and Cordarelle Patterson to the list of early departures. Tennessee's offense is going to suck next year.

Fans are such idiots sometimes. The vast majority of Tennessee fans opinions that I've heard centered around hope that Bray/CP/Hunter would declare (citing bad attitudes with all three - and the ever-logical "we've got a new coach so it's time to get some new faces on the field).

That said, while our offense is going to suck, it has a chance to not suck as much as most people think. Nathan Peterman is a good fit for Butch's offense (Butch recruited him hard to Cincinnati) and with Ja'Waun James and Zac Fulton both returning, we'll have all but one starter from one of the best OLs in the nation returning. Marlin Lane and Raijon Neal are also solid RBs and there's still a real chance that we get Derrick Green, one of the better RB recruits in the nation.

Dooley also did a good job of adding WR/TE talent the past couple years with guys like Pig Howard, Jason Croom, Brendan Downs, Vincent Dallas, Drae Bowles. It's going to be a young offense, but it does have some upside if Butch and his staff can make it work.

The losses on the offense are big though. Bray is one of my favorite QB prospects in this draft. Hunter is my #1 WR. Patterson is my #3 or 4. Thomas has been the anchor of that OL and in my top 5 linemen in the draft. But yeah a new staff can only help. Dooley was a disaster.

Oh, I definitely agree the losses were huge and we're going to regress huge offensively. I was just noting that there still is a good amount of talent on the offense (Tiny Richardson was our best lineman last year and was only a sophomore), so it may not suck quite as much as one would think when losing the elite offensive talent we are.

On Dooley, 99% of UT fans would agree with you, but I think he did the job he needed to do. He was never going to be a coach who won a lot of games here, he was simply a stabilizer meant to provide stability and add SEC talent to a program that had sanctions-level talent when he took over. Obviously the W/L was disastrous, but this is now a team with a solid amount of SEC talent and despite its record, isn't that far from being really good. That was my biggest problem with the Butch hire - from all indications he's just a better version of Dooley and not the type of coach who can take us to the next level.

What do you guys think about the TE from UCLA?

Fauria is a good receiver (not great) who knows how to use his size advantage. He's a horrible blocker. I'd guess he's a 3rd round level prospect. I wouldn't take him in the 2nd round.

How many players will it take to make the Chiefs better?

One really good QB would help, but they are losing Bowe, possibly Albert and others. If they can retain Albert and get another WR or 2....they'll compete in that division.

Walterfootball's weekly mock is up.

Have the Bears back to taking TE Tyler Eifert in the first round (Cuz they have the Giants now taking Ogletree one pick ahead of the Bears) and then Fluker again in the 2nd.

I guess I'm ok with that, even though we will likely see a drop off in defense.

I'd take the dropoff on D if u can add OL and TE talent to this offense. If those guys turn out any good, and Jeffery develops more this could be a top 15 offense. Worst case for the defense is probably still top 15 even with losses and regressions.

Yeah. The way I see it, you can re-sign Urlacher and even with regression from the defense, start building up the offense to take some of the burden from the defense while maximizing Cutler and Marshall in their prime.

Possible first round OT Eric Fisher and Central Michigan are on ESPN right now.

Robert Woods is turning pro. I love this quote so much:

@PedroMoura Robert Woods: "If the coaches wanted to keep me another year, they would’ve probably got me the ball."

That's awesome. I'm sure he won't cause any problems in the NFL. Never see any diva WRs in the pros.

Knowing a bit about his recruitment, he's actually a really good guy.

Not a huge fan of Woods. The Marvin Harrison comparisons he was getting last year were premature. I don't think he's near a 1st rounder. I barely have him in my top 60.

He played hurt most of the year and didn't have the explosion he had last year. If he can regain it, he's definitely a first round caliber receiver.

I still thought Lee was the better WR last year, even as a freshman. Maybe that's unfair to knock Woods because he's not as good as Lee, but I see a good compliment WR, not a star. I like Tavon Austin better.
