@blakegriffin32

Kid Blake: Who are you? Future Blake: you from the future... Don't listen to anything else I've told you just start wearing a cup.

Hahahahahahahahaha man I have such a weird love/hate thing with blake

Where does the hate come from?

My guess is he stands in the way of OKC where he gets to cheer for a UT player.

MJ was just as good at the same age. I decided to check to see how many players at age 34 scored 24 pts a game or more and there are 7 (including Kobe). Kobe, MJ, Karl Malone, Dominique Wilkins, Elgin Baylor, Alex English, and Bernard King. Only MJ (28.7) and King (28.4) scored more per game than Kobe (27.8). Also MJ and Malone had better PER than Kobe as well.

Then I checked for the same 24 pts/gm or more, but at age 35. There's only two. Alex English and Elgin Baylor. Then Malone did it at age 36 and he's the oldest to score that much per game in a season.

I'm not sure how it's possible. It's really impressive. Especially when you consider how many career minutes Kobe have racked up by now (44,800 which is good for 15th all time).

You think maybe next year he will now have a significant drop off?

I'm just saying it's amusing no one ever discusses PEDs in basketball.

If the byproduct is guys having their best seasons in their mid-late 30's and giving us athletes like Lebron I'm fine with it

Well, they're obviously testing for stuff with both Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis both getting suspended in the last 5 years. I'm sure Kobe would be taking some cutting edge stuff that can't be tested for yet though.

He definitely has the cutting edge stuff, don't forget that Regenokine knee procedure in Germany.

Just because a limited number of people test positive in the NFL and NBA doesn't mean PEDs are prevalent in those sports.

That's exactly what I was thinking of when I typed that. Who knows what kind of stuff he's gotten access to with his overseas connections/travels.

Bill Simmons[/url]"]9. Hedo Turkoglu: two years, $23.8 million

At least Hedo had the dignity to get suspended for steroids and save Orlando 20 games' pay (about $2.9 million). So that was nice of him. Do you want to make the snarky "I'm sure it was a total coincidence that Dwight Howard's two best teammates from Orlando's improbable 2009 playoff run never played that well again and both ended up getting suspended for PEDs, because there's noooooo waaaaaaaay the NBA has a PED problem" joke, or should I take it? Actually, you have it. I insist.

so when was the last time a team clinched a playoff spot with over 20 games left in the season?

The last time they played an 82 game season.

Plus this exchange is the greatest:

1. I actually give props to Brandon Knight on that: jumping up to block a shot on a guy that is over a half foot taller than him, with momentum. That took gigantic balls.

2. Jordan doesnt get that dunk (at least, not with the nastiness he put on it) without the forearm clearout. It's never called on spectacular plays, but it is an offensive foul.
