Cubs have home-field advantage in the World Series!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just have to play at about a .800 winning % the rest of the way to get that 2nd wild card spot!

I'm counting on 9 NL teams having monumental collapses.

They must not have shown it on TV, but Castro was so pissed last night. He was pacing in the dugout beginning in the 5th inning while everyone else was on the dugout steps. He ripped his hat off for God Bless America, and was glaring in Tony's direction often. He was visibly upset when Furcal took his last AB. Also, Furcal seemed to be surprised and he took the field late in both the 6th and 7th and before his final AB, like he assumed his day was over.

We'd win the division at an 80% clip. 70% clip would put us at 87 wins, pretty much right there.

Part of me is still dreaming :D but I'd take finishing with a better record than last year with some young players showing development. I'd be pretty happy with that. That'd would be we played pretty well in the second half.

I'd rather we just get the #1 pick and more importantly the most draft pool money than finish around where we did last year and pick somewhere between 6-10 again. If this were a year under old CBA rules I wouldn't care where we pick in the top 10 as it appears we'd have a near unlimited budget and would take and sign multiple overslot guys and since there isn't a clear #1 guy this year I'd be fine with picking around 6 again. But since getting the #1 pick now means you get to spend the most I want to be picking there.

If you want to tank, you want to tank for the biggest IFA spending limit. It'll be a stronger IFA class than this year and some of the normal big spenders (Texas, NYY, Toronto, Tampa, Atlanta, Kansas City) will have a far smaller IFA budget.

Is your IFA budget solely tied to your W/L record? Or does it also take into acount revenue/payroll?

W/L from the previous year, just like draft position.

Good to know, tank away then

I just can't pull for my team to lose, even if it helps them. Even in sports where a high draft pick can be more impactful I can't do it. I'd still rather see the Bulls get an 8th seed than tank and get a high draft pick for example.
