Anyone know anything about Orlando Johnson? Seems like a decent pick from what I've quickly read, and the Pacers only gave up cash to get him.

 

I don't know a whole lot about him, but seems like a really good pick. He has a pretty good NBA build already, and also really long with a 6-11 wingspan. Was a SR, and he improved his shooting every year. Looks to be a pretty good scorer and a damn good rebounder at the SG spot (over 6 per game last 2 years).

 

I like his game.

Whoever the Pistons' GM is just got himself fired in a few years.

 

There's no way you can pass on Drummond at 9 with the Pistons desperately needing a big that can protect the rim. And even if they didn't have that need he's still one of if not the top talents there. DX had him 2nd overall. Hollinger and Ford both had him 5th on their boards and the clear top C. He's a damn specimen. Yeah he underwhelmed this year. He also could have been a high school senior and was playing for a completely dysfunctional team.

 

Knight, Monroe and Drummond make for a nice potential young core.

Are they not going to re-sign Gordon?

 

Gordon wants to go to Indiana (partly since his little brother has just hit high school). But the Hornets hold all the cards since he's restricted and the Pacers owner doesn't allow the Pacers to offer restricted free agents offer sheets, so it is still somewhat a long shot.

 

If there's one thing you can trust it's where Gordon decides he wants to go.

You can't quite tell with Doc. If you told me on draft day last year that Avery Bradley would wind up a starter and Steimmimesmimsiesema would be a rotation player I'd slap you in the face and call you a [expletive] liar.

 

ETA: I'm guessing JJ hasn't shown up on defense to his liking. They'll probably keep him around as a cheap body, but I doubt he gets much tick at all.

 

Have I mentioned how much I loved the Celtics 1st round???

He's always been too skinny, he just gets pushed around. I would imagine it's going to take him a few years in the NBA to get his body to where it needs to be. I kind of see him as someone that's not going to do a whole lot until he's on his second or third team.

 

He's got the same build as KG so I was hoping he could learn his game. He can definitely shoot and he's got the length and athletic ability to be a good defender. He just needs to bulk up.

I could be wrong, but the feeling I get is that he was an amazing college player.

Skip Bayliss basically just said to never draft a white, American born big man. They always flop. Then said that Andre Drummond showed him more than Meyers Leonard, which Chad Ford said was insane. Then later Jamelle Hill brought up Kevin Love. I used to think Bayliss was an idiot. Now I think he's a racist.

Just say Leonard is really raw, didn't win a lot in college, and could flop. Don't say it's because he's a white guy from America.
