WTF? 2 three base errors in one inning?

Can't watch the game, how about a little help?

Cardenas popped up 10 feet in front of the plate. Pitcher, catcher, 3B converged, and the 3B dropped it, with the ball bouncing off his body into foul territory. Cardenas was running pretty well the whole time and made it to 3rd.

After Reed K'ed, Barney popped up in shallow right. 1B, 2B, and Rf converged, and the ball bounced off the RF out into foul territory. Barney was also running the whole way and made it to third.

Then Castro grounded sharply to the right of the 2nd base bag. Cedeno charged it aggressively to throw home, and the ball bounced off him into center.

Thanks, must watch Sportscenter.

Travis Wood is worth 2 top 100 prospects. If you can get that, move him

you do realize the reds traded travis wood for a reliever, right?

You're point?

my point is you're crazy if you think travis wood is going to get 1, let alone two top 100 prospects

I'll have what you're drinking/smoking. I don't think you could get 1 guy in the top 80-100 range for him.

His value has only gone up since last year. And not high 100 prospects, maybe a guy in the 70s and at the worst a guy on the outside looking in of the 100.

even if they could, why trade him? he's 25 and pitching very well. any pitcher they got back wouldn't have a much higher ceiling than wood himself.

I don't think he's worth nearly that much, but is providing good value at the moment, while only being 25 years old. Unless they are actually offered some legitimate top 100 prospects, like you seem to think they should get, there is no reason to trade.

I just bring it up being he might be an interesting option for those tepid about trading Garza(and not including him on the rebuilding phase).

I think he could very well get a top 75-100 guy and then some. He's pitched very well and there are a lot of contenders looking for pitching and only so many front end options available. Depending on what the Brewers and Phillies do, at this point it's pretty much limited to Dempster, Garza, and Wandy. Also, you won't find many potential mid rotation starters available with 4-5 remaining years of team control. And let's not forget that there's difference between a top 75-100 prospect and a top 25-50. Unless we're talking about really young high ceiling guys, most teams hope that a top 75-100 pitcher becomes Travis Wood.

Travis Wood has made 8 starts this year, and his peripherals have lagged way behind how "effective" he's been(3.54 ERA v. 4.92 FIP). No one is giving up anything of consequence for him right now, and that's fine. Imagine if the Cubs were good this year and needed a pitcher, how furious would everyone be if we traded Brett Jackson for someone like Eric Stults or Jordan Lyles?

Yes, so let's trade for one.

did the Cubs announcers have as much fun with Wood's helmet decal as the Mets announcers?

Kasper: Uh, Travis..?

Brenly: It’s not quite that windy here tonight, that it would blow the C off the front of his helmet.

Kasper: I don’t think I’ve ever seen a decal in that particular location on a batting helmet. It looks like a U.

Brenly: Like a horseshoe, yeah. The closed side down, so the luck doesn’t run out. That’s where we’re goin’.
