If the game remains tied (or Iowa falls behind in the 9th) Rizzo will get another AB. Kinda hope I-Cubs go 5 up-5 down, Omaha doesn't score and Rizzo is up with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th.

So at this point the Cubs can't really worry about super 2 can they? It just doesnt seem worth keeping Rizzo in Iowa for an extra month or more when he has nothing left to learn there.

McNutt was rocked. 3.1ip 9h 7r 6er 0w 2k. Concepcion has already given up 4 in 1.2 as well. Torreyes is 2-2 right now.

Not in my top ten.

How about ten more days?

Wow, I went completely braindead. Had not even crossed my mind to put LaHair in RF. And I agree, don't care right now how bad defensively it could be. Sidenote, Rizzo is NOT leading the minors in homers. Brad Eldred hit his 24th tonight.

I've been clinging man. By the end of the season, doubt he'll be in mine eithet.

10 more days is for the extra year of team control, but he would still be eligible for super 2 status, right? I thought the cutoff date for that was estimated around late July.

But that guy is like 40 years old, he doesn't count.

Damn Twitter lied to me. Wil Myers just hit his 22nd (AA/AAA combined) and gave Omaha a 2-run lead in the 9th.

They're behind due to a Wil Myers HR. He will be in KC later this year.

MLE 306/354/567 as a 22-year-old, with a pace for 44 home runs.

That's irresponsible. It's irresponsible to post things like that because you'll get my hopes up.

Good point.

These clock games are silly. Call him up and play him everyday at first

You think it's silly to wait an additional 10-11 days to get an extra full year of control?

If I had any doubts, NOW I know for certain "Theo" isn't the real The Epstein.

Yes. If Rizzo projects as expected, he'll be locked up long term regardless. We are the Cubs, not a small market team.

But an "extra" year of control is worth millions of dollars. Millions of dollars is still something significant to the Cubs.

That is the type of thinking that put the Cubs in this hole.
